Definitely his last chance. Good luck to him, hope he adds something

Added question - when a rookie is elevated, does their pay arrangement change at all?

I believe rookies are on about $60K a year, anyone know if that's true?

Good kid. Hope it finally clicks for him.

Agreed. Has always been a player I've wanted to make it because of the way he goes about it.

Couldn't have said it better!

I think they get a pay bump. That said Jetta might be on more than the rookie minimum anyway so it might be different in this situation.

Considering Trengove and Clark's spots are open for the entire year and Hunt and King are a long way from senior selection there is no harm in upgrading Jetta (and Georgiou already) so that they at least are on level footing with everyone.

That said it was a quick elevation so I would imagine Jetta is every chance to play on Sunday. We will find out soon

It's a Thursday-afternoon-just-before-the-squad's-named elevation.

I've said elsewhere that I believe he's earned the elevation. It will be interesting if he gets a game, how he will react on the field given that until the Jack Trengove announcement, his mindset would have been that it was highly unlikely he would get a chance until mid season.

I wish him luck and a turn around of fortunes if he plays this week (or next). It's a great story for Nev.

Not surprised that he was elevated, they wouldn't have kept him if they didn't see something, but he needs to do something special to warrant the elevation.

He's been given the chance and has played many games at Casey before without his form screaming "pick me".

Seems a great guy and hopefully he'll fire but I just can't see what's changed

Perhaps the change of coach makes a significant difference. Undoubtedly players respond differently to different coaches - perhaps Jetta responds better to Roos than his predecessors.

I'm pretty sure they get match payments as well

That may be so, but I don't think endeavour is, or has ever been an issue, its been a lack of anything that would give him an edge.

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy but I have doubts. Then again I had doubts about Pederson and he played his best for the club last week, by far, and may turn out to be a handy player.

a Paul Roos type player

Hope he plays this week, have always rated him

A Roos type player with a Viney-eske will for the contest, Swan like hard two way running and Strauss like laser precision kicking.

My memory is a little hazy but I recall he played a pretty good game against the Western Bulldogs in Round 24 last year, playing as a defender.

Given his appetite for tackling, and reasonable foot skills, I think he should take Terlich's spot a.s.a.p.

Got a soft spot for Nev. Definitely reminds me of wrecker Whelan in his attack and his scrap on the contest.

Btw saw a recent photo of Wheels. Been in a mighty fine paddock lol

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
