Greetings from Yackandandah Folk Festival! Anyone in the area drop in to and say hello to Thaipantsman in front of the post office.

Absence of Big Men C D J and H really hurt us.

Was generally encouraged. Commitment was up 75 % on last year. Watts and Jones were outstanding. Some straighter kicking early could have been good night Saints. Big NR was too good for us and in the end was the difference.

Encouraged by Spencer in the Ruck. Didn't see the final stats though he seemed to give us every chance around the stoppages.

Pederson is a worry but no other options ATM.

It will come if we get Hogan going.

Go Dees!

Which bit? If you mean Frawley, no way. The guy asks for direction and success then totally bails on contributing to it.

Thank God I'm not the only one.

Kicking skills atrocious.

Watts, Dunn and Jones outstanding.

Trengove and Vince great for 1.5 quarters.

Kicking skills atrocious.

Michie and M Jones improved in 2nd quarter.

WANTED: Someone to take a mark inside 50m.

Pederson, Byrnes - how bad were they?

Can Toumpas and Tyson run at all? (Tyson might have got 32 possessions but he wasn't good at all)

The Saints were able to have 2 and 3 players free behind every stoppage, with plenty of run coming from there.

Without the big 3 up forward, and then Fitz and TMac being injured winning went from tough to really difficult.

Aside from Watts Jones Vince and a bit of Toumpas I was underwhelmed with the midfield after quarter time.

And please no more Pedersen.

From where I was sitting he got to the ball but could never get 10cm on his opponent - still slow as last year.

Most of his disposals where useless - handballs whilst getting tackled

He worked very hard to provide a handball out of the stoppages, ran his guts out and showed plenty to me, but then there is demonland standards i suppose.

Hogan and Dawes MUST play next week, even in wheelchairs. Structure players are too important to have none of.

Jack Grimes is not AFL standard

Please take him out of the banner

I think you should start elsewhere eg. Spencer, Pedersen, Byrnes etc.

I think Howe got a knock early too, so may have been under duress. But he didn't have a great game.

Positives for me:

Watts

N jones

Tyson

Toumpas

Vince

Georgiou

I thought Grimes was pretty good but I see some have given him a spray.

I can smell a meltdown brewing.

Melbourne with no talls .

We are in the shyte.

Champagne for the biggest over reaction and a six pack for the best calm down post.

Absolute frustration tonight. Where's the dog? I need to kick it.

I only saw bits and pieces, but to have had more disposals, more inside 50s and the same number of scoring shots is at least a difference from last year. But no forward line has killed us (Pedersen is awful. Howe is not good enough for his level of talent).

Nonetheless, St Kilda might not win another game this year (unless they play us again). If we are going to have a shot at winning, this was going to be it.

Grimes does some incredible stuff, and has a great turn of speed, but his kicking has to be addressed. He turns it over when under no pressure and all our players are spreading forward.

I HATE THIS CLUB! SACK ROOS! BWWWWARRRRGH!

O.K. Don't get too excited.

The truth is that there was one reason and one reason only why we lost.

There was a grand total of zero up forward. Howe went missing and with him any chance we would win the game.

We had more possessions (60 more), more scoring shots and more inside 50s.

We clearly need a target up forward. Even one of Dawes, Clark or Hogan would have made a huge difference tonight.

Pedo, while a good trier, isn't of Dawes' or Clark's class.

Disappointing to lose but clearly the problems are fixable.

Stop making sense

Lost a lot over the last few years, but that one hurt worse than GWS...

Cameron Pederson makes me weep with sadness.

Without at least one legitimate tall forward, we won't win a game.

Yes thats what people say.

No point stating the obvious, we know they are rubbish

No idea why they were selected, but that was the first massive error by the $1.5 million man

Byrnes was our highest goal kicker and Spencer dominated the hit outs.

It is so easy to pot players - but tell me, who would you bring in instead? Blease? Nicholson? Please.

Blease, absolutely yes.

And id have anyone on the list in the team ahead of Pedersen.

Would have preferred Max King,

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
