All about Mitch Clark

Uh huh. I assume that means he pays us so he can break the contract. I'd bloody well hope so anyway.

I doubt it, I think it means he's liable to stay on the list and earn his keep but would hypothetically take a lump sum of lesser value and free up his list spot.

Discussion about him as a player is all well and good, but the constant rumours and assumptions about his personal life are nothing but harmful.

Go watch Days Of Our Lives if that's what you want.

unless you disagree

He cant ne replaced till the end of season. Another argument for a mid year trade session

if he feels like he is letting the club down, maybe we should terminate his contract and then offer him one on minimum dollars?

give him 3 years on a tiny wage, rookie him if we have to, and just let him get his body right for as long as it takes?

Clark played with Nathan Jones like passion. It is rare to see in the red and blue.

If Clark doesn't get back, we'll all be disappointed, but as it stands he is a MFC player - so let's get behind him.

If he does return and can play injury free, he will reward us ten fold.

I don't know why people go on about money, we've had highly paid squibs on our list for a decade now, at least Clark plays with passion and courage.

Well said: I honestly cannot believe the cr@p that some have written about him being weak and not caring. He desperately wants to play, and being unable to do so cannot help help any issues, which may well be depressive in nature.

I'm well aware of all that. But does he still WANT to play footy? Can anyone honestly answer that? We have no idea. Some transparency in that regard would be good. It would certainly make it less frustrating. And the timing is hugely frustrating. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

P-man: as you said, we have no idea. Hopefully the announcement will be that he is progressing well, though one would have to say given all he has been through with his Lisfranc it is becoming increasingly unlikely.

I really feel like this thread should be locked, start a new thread when we get something factual to go on.

Come on Sassy - since when do facts matter in this board?

This Mitch Clark situation is a true ball breaker. Completely ignoring his personal issues because I have no idea, but from a purely selfish point of view, we can't afford to lose one of our best two or three (arguably most) best, most important and inspirational players, especially given the lack of quality and heart on our current list.

If he goes, and I hope he doesn't, it just confirms we are jinxed however what's best for Clark's well being is paramount.

It must be killing him not being able to perform.

Why would he be meeting with MFC and together with his manager if he wanted to stay?

It ain't gunna be good news.

Dam it he's my daughters fav player too.

My Grandson was rapt to pull Mitch in the last packet of footy cards.

FM.

I hope we dont use this cap space to pay Frawley to stay. He is a tough defender though not worth more then 600k imo. I hope we use it as a warchest on the open market

Yeah if we lose Frawley we could use that money to lure an All-Australian key defender, maybe an unrestricted free agent..... Oh wait....

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
