The leading votegetters for the Gardner-Clark Medal:-

1. Jesse Hogan (82 votes)
2. Evan Panozza (73)
3. Max Gawn (69)
4. James Magner (67)
5. Tom Couch (57)
6. Cam Pedersen (53)
7. Mitch Gent (48)
8. Luke Tynan (43)
9. Neville Jetta (37)

Other awards:-

Jarryd Drew - Rising Star

Mitch Gent - most improved

Jake Best - coach's award

Luke Hill - captain's award

Tim Smith - respect earner

Aiden Lindsay - best & fairest (development league)

A fine effort from both Hogan and Gawn who could easily be two of the MFC's most important players for the next decade.

Mitch Gent enhances his prospects for this year's draft.

And I don't know why James Magner doesn't get more opportunities at AFL level.

Probably because he got 30 touches almost every week for Casey and played more games than Gawn and Hogan and still didn't win the B+F. Magner's games looked good on paper but the Liston and even more tellingly now this B+F indicates to me he just wasn't making anywhere enough impact. I suspect even at VFL he'd be looking like the Matt Priddis of the team where as he needs to look like Sam Mitchell when he's in the VFL if he wants to be any chance of AFL.

What is the vote format for the Scorps B&F?

Great effort by Gawn, considering he played a fair chunk of AFL games in 2013.

Dont beleive the hype people, he's just not that good !!!

Well done Mr Hogan

A real shame he got that knee injury before finals, Casey looked a different team without him.

Well done Jesse, and well done to Gawn given he played a fair amount of Melbourne games.

What about Best? Wasn't he suppose to be pretty good?

Played mainly as a small forward and only really got going towards the mid to end of season IIRC. At least that's when he started to impact the scoreboard regularly. Will be interesting to see if he goes in any of the drafts. I'd suspect coming from a cricket background he'd be perfect to have train with a club before the rookie draft to have a closer look at - see where they can get his fitness before they take a punt on him.

How many first year players have won this award and more particularly, how many 17 to 18 year old players have won it, and even more particularly, how many 17 to 18 year old key position players have won it? Makes it a pretty big ask to #keepalidonit.

Hogan and Clark fit and firing; the mere thought of it is too X rated to articulate.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
