Quite possibly the simplest poll ever as opinions are polls apart

Plenty of other threads to air those. This is simply to facilitate all to vote yay or nay !!

keep of course. What's the story in Demonland?? Rivers, Moloney, Petterd and Martin should still be playing for Dees.

Watts especially is just arriving and will be the biggest force of the game in two more years. Next year he'll be dominant.

CRAZY!!..

Spot on. We need to keep at all costs. Watts could be one of the top 10 players in the league within 2 years

Keep. He is improving gradually every year and doesn't have great currency in terms of a trade. Losing another senior player would also be terrible for the morale of the club.

Keep. You should trade out guys who aren't showing signs of reaching their potential around age 25-26. The reality is that he's 22 years old, has all the talent in the world, and still has time on his side. Couple this with the fact that his trade value is not nearly as high as it would need to be for us to get adequate compensation, and it's a no-brainer for mine.

This is a hard call, my kids love him, has he delivered no will he every deliver each week who knows, all I know is we drafted him as a key forward, he isn't that, he is a high half forward, that can push up on the wing. He is hard to assess, what I would live to see is him sign a two year deal and we see him play in a forward line that will have Clark, Dawes and Hogan, if he can be that 4th tall he would be hard to stop.

But our midfield needs players, Watts is one player on our list that could be used to get a decent midfielder or another top 10 draft pick.

I would like to keep him but if the right trade was there more for a player than pick you would have to look at it. I think our forward line is dangerous enough with Clark, Hogan, Dawes, Howe and now with Fitzy as a second ruck/forward, we need players that can get the ball to them

like to see him appear on afl360

that way I can analyse both performances and make a decision

Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen if he stays with us. Would prefer to keep him, but he needs a major shift in his mindset before he becomes a top 10 player.

How can you vote to trade or keep without knowing what you'll get in return?

I'd say keep, but I thought & think 2/3 of Beamers problem was Neelds fault, so what would I know?

Exactly!!

This says it all for me, if Watts goes we will be worse off, continuing our downward spiral.

50,000 Watts threads on the go...

Just having a new coach isn't going to save us, comes from having 40 players also 100% committed to turning this place into a powerhouse, Jack Watts has just proven he is not one of them so move him on.

Simplest poll ever? This rates up there with some of Rangey's old polls.

Would like you to add "Trade for Nik Nat" as a third option please B59.

its just one question...pretty simple :)

Option three would never occur. The two choices are very doable.

Biggest force of the game? Maybe cut down on the sweet mary jane, 'thaipantsman'.

We have to start looking at the attributes he actually brings to a game, and not the things we expect him to bring but never delivers.

Kicking / kicking for goal - possibly the best since Trav Johnstone, and on the same level as Davey

Marking. Rather poor really, but has improved immensely under Neil Craig.

Tackling. Very poor, even when he tries to tackle.

Awareness/Vision. Amazing, a common trait from who players who come to AFL from basketball.

Physical presence/power forward. Very poor.

Mental toughness/application. Worst aspect of his game. Dreadful.

Aerobic. Really, really good.

Team player. The other players really like him, but after the Footy Show last night this looks tenuous at best.

So, for a bloke 6'5", with the above traits, do we need that player or can we improve our list via trade? IS there someone else on our list with his strengths? I am a huge fan of Jack, and voted above for him to stay, but looking at the listed attributes I am unsure.

One thing I will say is that each year he has improved, and that says a lot about his training and growth. Will he produce in 2014/2015 the mental and physical toughness that he currently lacks?

A pity there is not an option for 'undecided' for us fence sitters

I have a feeling that whatever decision is made it will work out the worst for us.

thats fair enough.. I will amend and people can recast their votes if they so desire

Not emotionally attached one way or the other. If he wants to go then we try and get the best arrangement possible and hopefully fill a big hole in the midfield. If he wants to stay I'll be happy, he's on a trajectory of improvement and adds plenty going forward.

I wouldn't actively seek to trade him unless he asked.

Just before jones started to play well, there were threads like this about him.....

I'd keep Watts.... Trading him for Swallow or Gibbs is just swapping deck chairs.... Swallow has done nothing and Gibbs is softer.... If we can wait 8 years for Sylvia than we can wait 8 for watts.... I'd rather watch watts grow here then watch him dominate for another team....

Definate keep for me....

Edit: after the footy though... Watts is definitely gone....

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
