The Demons players need to be given the rest of the year off........ I almost shat my pancreas out from shear rage at the lack of [censored] effort.... There were only a couple of players that deserve half their paycheck the rest should be given a new contract like the lawyers advertise on the tv.... No win, No Fee! Now comrades let us all rejoice in hearing the communist inspired club song!

That went almost exactly how'd I imagined it would. We never once looked like we thought we could win.

I'm not even sure I care anymore. It's pretty hard to when you see what the players dish up every week.

The only hope is we pray for a priority pick and a coach with a win at all costs philosophy. I'm tired of 'process' coaches.

I am like many on here a very very passionate member but honestly I'm not angry bitter or disappointed much anymore just loosing interest in this football club I've already lost two of my kids to other clubs and my young fella at 3 won't be far behind. That's the sad part that I can't even convince my kids there is any sort of hope

That's what I worry about. We are going to have no supporters or members from this current generation. We currently have ZERO players that will attract young eyes. When I was young we at least had Lyon and the Ox and Farmer. Who do we have now? Nobody.

The future is grim. Those wishing for us to fold SHAME ON YOU, but unfortunatley your wish may one day be true! :(

When you want someone to stand up our players sit back and hope some else does. Team of absolute pretenders, this club is stuffed. They need to move our Freo game to casey, you can't have 4000 at the mcg. No president, no board, no coach, no Players, no major sponsor we are stuffed

I can only hope this club has enough $$ available from the AFL to make Roos a massive 'overs' offer.

I would consider Choco as 2nd banana if Roos wont budge.

But foresaking those 2 i think it's allover red rover for this club now. I doubt it will improve significantly under an Eade reign or anyone similar or lessor. I'm not even that confident Choco could turn this shameful ship wreck around. And i know there's no way PJ can sitting behind his desk.

Craig has unfortunately proven himself to be a "has been" in the last few uninspiring weeks, both before the game at the selection table and in terms of being unable to motivate the troops to any degree on match day.

IMHO it's either Roos/Choco or bust. Unless the AFL are happy to keep bailing out a completely irrelevant club for the next decade or more with tens of millions in losses from here over that period.

The funny thing is that our players look at our club and go "This place is unprofessional. I want out."

And all the other clubs just look at our players and go "Man are they unprofessional. Why should we pick them up?"

And anyone who does get picked up goes "Holy crap. I had a good thing going at Melbourne. If only I'd shut my mouth and worked a little harder, I wouldn't be on the verge of getting delisted by Hawthorn/Collingwood/Richmond."

I can't imagine feeling more despondent than I do right now. Just when I thought things couldn't get any lower, someone drops soiled paper on me and pulls the chain.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY NATHAN JONES ISN'T OUR CAPTAIN?

I can't actually comprehend it.

I'm not sure what boxes you had to "check off" on Neeld's Captaincy check-list, but on my check list:

guts, loyalty, determination, honour, pride, training dedication, consistency etc.

He ticks ALL of them and more.

Craig still believes in the "Two Jacks as Captain" blunder. This situation wont change until a new coach is appointed. And even then i'm not confident he would get it right, unless it's a Roos or Choco appointment.

IMO the 2 Jacks decision was as damaging to the entire playing group/club as any under the Neeld reign. There were just too many damaging blunders during that period as we have all come to learn.

This is the blow back from so many blunders and so much ineptness.

The MFC only has itself to blame.

If i was the AFL i would change the player contract rules and put every MFC player on a performance based contract. If they don't meet their KPI's over rolling 3 to 6 month periods i'd show them the door and just ring in the changes from Casey or other "special assistance" drafting avenues lol.

I just watched the 1st half on tv and just looked at the real score. Saves me watching the 2nd half. I just dont care anymore. GWS were expected to win so im not shocked. But I didnt expect to lose by that much.

Hopefully the media focus on richmond thrashing hawthorn at the moment.

But geez this season cant end fast enough.

Ive stopped caring about this so called team.

By the way at least Neeld has done something that Craig hasnt been able to do. beat GWS. Im not sure Craig will want the job anymore. Why would you want to coach this rabble

Watts , Howe and Sylvia are just front running show ponies.

Captains Trengove and Grimes are just ordinary footballers

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
