New Demonland Banner

I wish Garry Lyon was removed from the banner, to me he is no legend of the club - never completely in nor completely out. Jim Stynes really had to twist his arm a few years ago to help the club in need and still look at it now.

He is nothing more than a once excellent footballer and current media jock. To me the true legends are those that have stood up unconditionally in times of need with their hearts beating "TRUE", such men like Robbie Flower (as shown), Jim Stynes (as shown), and Todd Viney.

Anyway that's my take I know I will get grilled for this.

Understand the mod's may be looking to freshen up the banner of the site.

I've had first crack. Thoughts?

Nice. but what about the mcg a little stronger, & the boys slightly further apart allowing the stronger MCG image, with Smithy's image watermarked above the MCG lights?

the Demonland insignia could be watermarked, right across, left to right?

May be we need a few of the new Melbourne Ladies players on it as well.

As the MFC is a trend setter.

The MFC's greatest ever pointer...

The thing he had over Moloney with his pointing is that Neitz would do it after kicking one of his 631 goals during his record-breaking career at Melbourne.

Moloney would do it when he couldn't be bothered manning up/running.

Back to the banner - I like the old faves.

Does trenners and grimes really deserve to be there yet?

This should really be a MFC champions banner.

Why isn't Todd viney up there, considering he was captain and is still heavily involved in the club.

Further more, I would only have Nate jones up there from the current playing group.

Considering grimes and trengove will probably not be captains next year, we should have proven champions only.

Agree with earlier post.. drop Garry Lyon. not a legend of the club. has used the club for his own self gain.. and has no real interest in using his position to repay the club..

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
