Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Schwab is welcome at the club and so is Moloney, and I am sure that they will both be around the club in the future - be it short term or a bit longer.

We have to stop holding petty grudges.

There was nothing more than boorish immaturity in Moloney's Instagram image.

The sentiment behind this is spot on, however based on Brent's behaviour I think it's obvious he's not really interested.

Brent could have been the bigger man and just let it go. In fact, Brent could have said so much more about himself as a person by saying nothing, yet he merely reinforced the view that the majority of MFC supporters have already formed about him.

And by insulting the man who he feels did him wrong, he insults the club, and by extension its supporters.

Light hearted banter?

51426-The-lord-is-testing-me--Commun-GOt

Saying that Neeld losing his job is karma for not giving Moloney captaincy and playing him in the VFL is light hearted banter?

Seemed to have alot of venom in it to me.

Don't kick someone when their down. It was a dog act and did nothing to strengthen the negative stigma around him.

Also did you ever meet Neeld? Ever have a chat to him?

He was a hard bloke, frank but polite and wasn't a jackass.

He did what the club wanted him to do: get rid of the dead weight and change the lazy culture. Moloney epitomised that when he put himself before the team. Good riddance.

Mark neeld single handedly brought this club to its knees and made us the laughing stock of the competition.

In my eyes he is the biggest jackass to walk through the doors in the last 100 years.

Good riddance

I assume you're livid at the decisions to sack Schwab and for McLardy to stand down.

I also assume you think we're going to win a stack of games in the run home?

I also assume you have a strong anti-Neeld bias and you're a little bitter.

Yep, we had heaps of credibility in 2011 - particularly after Geelong thumped us by 186 points.

We have to stop holding petty grudges.

There was no malice in the way Schwab poorly ran the FD.

There was nothing more than boorish immaturity in Moloney's Instagram image.

Garry Lyon was pushed to involve himself against the wishes and advice that he himself gave to others (let that be lesson Re: Paul Roos, Coach 2014).

Gardner and McLardy agreed to take on a difficult leadership position at a club constantly on a knife edge - do everything well you break even (and not just in finances), screw up and disaster hits.

I have personal experience of how this club likes to factionalise and hold petty grudges against other Demons who have nothing but the best interests of the club at heart.

You have to forgive and understand, welcome back, and allow as many Demons through those gates as possible.

We need every Demon we can get.

Agree with the sentiment that unity is what we should be striving for. But time is needed. I have no doubt Schwab, Neeld and McClardy were all acting in what they thought were the best interests of the club. But poor behaviour has it ramifications. Especially when those in power are abusive or derelict in their practice.

Schwab's conniving, Neeld's blunt-force trauma and McClardy's ostrich-like inaction have been at the root of all this mess. Lynden Dunn's mum calling the radio? Club stalwarts taking pot shots? Players walking out?

This is a direct result of these people who were in charge of our club and we will forgive and forget in time but not straight away.

being critical of players is like being critical of Soldiers that are fighting for your country. They are risking their bodies for you, so you must be contructive in the criticism.

Ok, my constructive criticism of Brent Moloney is "you undermined the development of the club by demanding that other players sacrifice their game to maximise yours, you interpreted leadership as being about getting everyone else to do things for you instead of the other way around, refused to play your part when given direct instructions, brought the club into public disrepute with your adolescent style boozing, encouraged others to do the same, and dropped your head to sook the moment things went against you."

Let's just be glad he wasn't a soldier, I guess.

Beamer was great tonight against a top side.

Pretty quiet early but had a great last quarter.

Interesting aside in that game when the ball hit the umpire, it was heading for a Geelong goal and ended up a Brisbane goal which changed the flow of the game. What if this happened in the dying seconds of a GF with scores within a goal...surely it must be a dead ball if it hits the ump.

Place was busted before Neeld got there and that's not to say he didn't make it worse because he clearly did.

Brent Moloney however is still a petulant sook and was never Captaincy material.

So when do we start discussing offering Moloney a contract back at the Demons??

Now that we've removed the 4 spin doctors (Connelly, Schwab, McLardy & Neeld) is it time to start remembering that good players are good players??

You never know, the act of extending the olive branch to players that have been spited by the club (e.g. Petterd, Moloney) may be the kind of goodwill gesture that reunites the team morale, & encourages other players (e.g. Sylvia, Frawley & Watts) to stay.

3 goals and a match winning last quarter by Beamer would be a handy edition to any side, & it could easily be ours...

Moloney won Brisbane the game in the last, what a massive last quarter.

His clearance work and willingness to take the game on was the main factor in Brisbane winning.

The game wasn't even there to be won, Moloney was simply superb.

Don't forget though, he's.a Flat track bully who can't play against top opposition! I thought they were playing the Cats. What b--s we have endured from the Neeld supporters about Moloney

Moloney was always overrated

Even the season he got 18 brownlow votes and the Bluey, he played 7 very good games and 15 average-crap ones

Flat track bully

Most of the other games he was tagged by the best tagging midfielder. Many clubs recognized that the combination of Jamar/Moloney could be lethal. I do acknowledge he didn't handle a tagger as well as he might have done, but to get 18 votes in the Deees of 2011 was incredible.

This year the whole bloody club will be struggling to get 18!

Nah! they were running on adrenaline in the last, running forward with the ball. He's done that for us in the past. It's when the game gets tough that he goes missing. I'm happy he's not with us now, it's all Brent's way or nothing. Geelong didn't bother tagging him and came unstuck, now if you want to see a real player talk about Black who at least kept them in the game....or talk about Jones who draws a hard tag every week, as Craig says this guy is a true champ who in a better side would be a Brownlow winner.

Weakest excuse and attempt at reasonging I've ever heard.

Down by 52 points not enough to say the "game gets tough"?

Ridiculous post.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
