It's bad news on Grimes though. He's out for another 8 weeks as I think that's the minimum for LTI unless there is some transfer arrangement for the mid season promotion.

Not necessarily, it's why they put him one the LTI list last week. He's out for another 7

Knowing us, we'll play him as sub this week, he'll come on in the last quarter when we're 100 down and he'll get 10 touches and 5 clearances.

... and dropped to the VFL to find form!!!

Jeepers.....and just when i was getting a bit of hope back that we might start making some common sense decisions around the place.... thank guys

But seriously, all the best to Magnet. I know the Jones boy was tweeting for the Magnet to get a guernsey soon. Hopefully this might lift his spirits a little. Not expecting too much until the mid field rotation numbers improve. Although if we throw Rodan and Tapscott into the mix it does give us a few more soldiers until Sylvia/Grimes return. Get Blease into some form off half back, perseveer with Evans to add some bite to the outside. Develop M Jones as another potential inside mid in the next year or 2 (slowly).

There is hope yet for the mid field. Still needs lots of bolstering and new injections though. A long way off being competitive over a long 22 weeks.

Maybe Neeldy knows he's getting fired and thinks f-u supporters

It makes as much sense as all the other stuff getting around on this site :)

Well given that there's a bye in there as well, doesn't that mean he's out for at least 8 weeks from now anyway?

So what happens if Magner plays [censored] this week?

We give him another week to make amends. If he still plays "[censored]", then we bring in someone else.

Why this week? Why not last week as soon as Grimes went down? He must've had a great week on the track, I guess he'll be in v Richmond.

......had a great week on the track......oh noooooo........every I hear that, things go from bad to worse to even worse

It's by time period. LTI includes AFL/VFL, and he can still play for Casey when we have a bye (for example), so that's still a match day.

No doubt he won't be Robinson Crusoe, you'd hope on the back of VFL form he gets another crack at least.

I for one don't think he will be [censored].

Get tough or get out. Yes, Magner IN and keep him IN.

We need Magner, Jetta, Viney, Sylvia, Tapscott, Jones (plus 1-2 more tough guys). Add Dion Prestia (swap pick 20)and Dylan Shiels (GWS) (swap pick 2). No more skinny kids.

Magner will make no difference I don't know why some people here worship him. Magner is very one paced with ordinary disposal skills. He isn't apart of our long term future, just another list clogger.

Every so often there is a post on this site that shows the poster knows next to nothing about the game.

Congrats deefella...you are today's winner.

I did not watch the game today as I opted to spend a stress free afternoon at the park with my son...

How did Magner go? His stats are what I expected..

Won the ball, tackled hard, got clearances and never took a backward step.

Every team needs someone like him, its a joke he was ever rookied.

Thanks Hoags, that is pretty much how I thought he would go about it. I hope Neeld did not have him in that negative role we all love to see Magnar in..

He has a few rounds to show Neeld (or next coach) why he should be elevated at years end. I also hope Couch is also elevated.

He as good and added what we needed, he will help Viney out when he comes back as he will be third in line instead of second.

Magner will not be a star but like tuck for Richmond will offer more than a lot.

Magner showed today with his aggression and run - he actually roved successfully to the opposition (!) - that Neeld's biggest list error was putting this bloke down to the rookie list.

He contributed more today than the person he replaced has contributed over about a 20-game period.

Just putting it out there.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
