He did work in admin at the Yankees! He has a background in sport!

assistant to the travelling secretary, actually. (ha ha)

did you know the secretary to the assistant to the travelling secretary earns more money that the assistant to the travelling secretary himself?

For the life of me I still cant see why Scwhab was sacked. Neeld is the dud. His pre game speech was pitiful and the allowance of him to spew that rubbish on live tv was a disgrace.

From what I've heard he got extremely lucky with being the head during a period which had an exceptional coach and player group - in short, any CEO would've been successful during that period. The sun and the moon essentially collided on his watch.

Dumb luck really.

Absolutely hopeless people manager with appalling judgement. Got found out badly in his second stint. All was exposed.

Edit - iPad typos.

The next CEO will definitely be a success because they will be the AFL's chosen person and the AFL will make sure the AFL is seen to have gotten it right.

Tend to agree Alf but please be warned you're treading dangerous waters here Son. Edited by thaipantsman

Will take your word for it RB, in saying that you got to have some smarts it don't just fall into out lap.

Ps good god wasn't that the apex of rugby? Lomu was flying, the Wallabies with larkham, Els, Gregan, The 100kg plus wingers, the Fijian flyers in Super 12's, the Lions here, the World Cup here... It was brilliant and we are a long way from it now.

No way let Gary Lyon choose the CEO. He chose the coach and look where we are.

Jim Stynes want Schwab when Bailey was sacked and Gary tallked him out of it.

Brian Cook would be a good choice as CEO. He played for Melbourne Under 19's.

Presently he is overseas some should catch up with him and have a chat with him.

He may be up for a challenge

Festivus or the rest of us!

They could do the selection using the feats of strength then the airing of the grievences!

The winner would truly be the right man or woman!

so you have seen one grab of a speech to players in Neelds time at Melbourne and decided he is a dud.

have you ever met the guy or spoken to any players to verify your assumption?

Neeld is the dud. His pre game speech was pitiful ...

a) that's a matter of opinion

b) it wasn't the pre-game speech, it was the pre-warm up speech, done nearly 2 hours before the game.

Ben Buckley, what is he doing now?

John O'Niell? Probably to small fry for them but you can only aks.

John O'Neill is Chairman of Echo Entertainment, owners of The Star casino in Sydney. I think he'd be too busy fighting off James Packer at the moment.

Andrian Anderson? Perfect CEO or not? We must get a proven powerful CEO with strong leadership the only other one for me would be Eugene arocca he seems to have left a fairly strong culture are north! Adrian Anderson would be my pick Demitriou may take a stronger liking to us haha

This guy worries me.

I reckon he was sacked by the AFL for naively firing up the tanking debate while AD was away.

He failed to see the ramifications of following up McLean's comments. Government gambling authorities still haven't announced the result of their match fixing probes. At least 8 Clubs are involved, and many millions of dollars earned by AFL Clubs from Poker machines are in jeopardy.

I want a CEO with a better understanding of how sport works than a guy who makes errors like that. (especially since so far, we're the only victims of his ineptitude).

Not the right choice for the club. background in football operation matters so likely to want to be involved in the footy department which is not what we want.

Also limited experience in the business side of football, we need someone who has strong business experience in marketing and sponsorships.

I cant see him fitting the bill.

The last 2 weeks have been the worst in my 31 years as a MFC member.

The next CEO of the MFC we MUST get right.

The future of the club we love is very much at stake and we MUST NOT get this WRONG.

Adrian Anderson would be perfect IMO.

Who do you think it will/should be?

LETS GET THIS RIGHT DEES.

WHY?????

Can't see supporters copping Anderson. He's the one who went for us and nobody else.

Not a lot of love for my left field suggestion of Tim Holding, understandable though, especially if you vote Liberal. I lived in his electorat and he's been a really good operator there. And no one's even commented on Tony Dodemaide who I reckon would be a good candidate.

All in all though I reckon Eugen Arocca seems to make the most sense.

when the mfc becomes a political party we'll consider him :)

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
