  1. This the Australian link... Seems a definite done deal. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/paul-roos-close-to-signing-2m-deal-to-coach-melbourne-demons/story-fnca0u4y-1226708022794
  2. cheers Ben and I get what your saying. but my comment is more based around the perception he is no good rather than people over hyping. there seems to be a group on here who believe he is a terrible disposal and decision maker. my opinion is that he is like many others in our team and can make mistakes but we need our guys to sometimes just have a go and accept sometimes mistakes will come. I certainly am not saying he is a gun but many here seem to want to state as fact re his disposal when in fact he was 80% plus efficiency.
  3. I don't understand why people here get stuck into Terlich so much. His run and attack on the ball is something we have been missing for a long time. Yes he may make mistakes but he is not on his own in this team. I would have thought his 80% disposal efficiency last night might have had people talking of his improvement with game time?
  4. Can't mark can't pick up a ball with no pressure can't pick up the ball with pressure can't run can't do anything really
  5. Not sure where I said it is uncommon or unique to Melbourne.... I agree with your statement others are the same. Of course this is symptomatic of any team that is performing poorly and disfunctional. I propose that for once we are not like every other team of supporters because of the way we look after each other when things aren't great. Let's face it the problem with Melbourne is as much to do with the fractures within the club and we see similar cultural symptoms play out here. What if we were different and recognised for the positives about the supporter base? Everyone is entitled to their opinion no doubt, but it is of course how it is expressed and conveyed that can make all the difference. I would suggest as supporters we must live and breathe for the club and each other rather than being the same as 'the rest'.
  6. Why worry about other supporters when you can come on here for a pounding from your own. Its seriously disgraceful the way we eat our own on here. We all cop it enough without the crap our own give each other. On top of that many here are happy to put their opinion up as fact but when a guy puts up how bad he feels as we all do we lay into him??? Stick together and look after each other should be our mantra right now, we need each other for support and therapy if nothing else!!
  7. As they said re Rhys Palmer.... Sure you are probably right but nothing is for certain...
  8. Mate did you watch Boak tonight....he was the difference and if we had a player like him the rest of our midfield would play better too. There is a good reason Geelong went across to try and get him. Wines is good by the way I'm not suggesting otherwise. But people here are so obsessed with saying we got it all wrong when we are 5 games into what will be 10-15 year careers for these kids.
  9. If you watched the game you would know he didn't have a lot of impact on the contest regardless of stats...
  10. How was Cranny maccas tonight? Also 8 games a year ain't much....but we need battlers like yourself.
  11. Thanks for getting us back on topic Maldonboy. Appreciate the update.
  12. The issue with expansion clubs is that they have bigger caps and space to match us if they need to. I can only seeing us land a player from these clubs if the player is adamant they want out to Melbourne.
  13. I love it how you also know how many training sessions I've been too - you are a funny guy.Not sure if you know but they train more at on those ovals across from AAMI park. Therefore I have seen more of Jimmy than you. But no issue because you know everything and like to be the top dog with the last word eh! Cue your continued grandstanding on how and you think an 18yo kid is who will never be anything. Poor you..
  14. Just wondering why you haven't been recruiting for us for the last 7 years. Sounds like your a gun in hindsight.
  15. I look at players such as Garlett who did nothing much year one. We seem to expect 18yo to walk in and change the team while playing in a team that lost its first 3 by 100 plus. I think many here are heavily scarred by the Jack Watts experience and now are not prepared to wait for anyone. Remember what a great first year Rhys Palmer had? Rising star....where is he now???? People on here need to recognise every individual is different and takes their own time. The comments about Todd Viney are out of line given he knew Wines in depth and still went for Toumpas as most people agreed with. Get some perspective and take a chill pill. For what it's worth if you have been to training you would see Toumpas offers more from his shortened preseason than many others we have down there already.
  16. I agree but he is signed until 2015. Dogs have built their entire junior membership around him with the Dahlhaus Dogs. They identified him early as a long term player for them.
  17. Maybe they don't but again perception is reality to most supporters and that is that we have lurched from one disaster to the next and the way the board represents members and supporters is important to people. People feel let down and I think that's understandable regardless of how hard or great the board are doing things behind the scenes. People measure the board by the success and competitiveness of the club but also how the board protects the club and this seems to have been the issue.
  18. I thought I saw him mouth the words kick it long to the tall timber in the goal square and take the game on and break packs. Well thats what happened...
  19. yes I understand all that but what do you to expect them to say when they are elected? We have the best, hardest to find, most amazing candidates who can't be found anywhere and are irreplacable. Of course that's what we want. Can you tell if they are so good why the don't plan ahead for the worst case scenario (which plays out daily at the MFC) and proactively approach it rather than be reactive and surprised all the time. It's a big wide world. These people may be great but the club's handling of some of the issues over the last 2 years has been unacceptable and there would certainly be others who are more than capable of doing the job.
  20. all good - we disagree I just don't see how you could ever hope to create a culture at any club where no one at all claps at half time. By the way I absolutely hate that supporters do it and don't agree with it at all. ...play on.
  21. I agree old dee I think there are a lot more out there willing and able than people realise.
  22. Hey buddy....enjoy the week this week and try to think about being a winner. Who knows about next week but we are a chance if we can sustain the effort from the last qtr no doubt.
  23. The thing that gets me is if there was a stat for watching a contest and just jogging along to meet it if you can get there then Watts would rack up 100 possessions a game. He is a brilliant watcher of the game.
  24. Big tick for Maxy today. BIG positive to come out for the day. I would think he and Spencer aren't far off moving Jamar from the senior team.
