Dominates the VFL but lacks a yard above and below the shoulders at Afl

Level and foot skills which the hawks thought they could fix.

Good decision for us to let him go and when you look at Hawthorns defense it's not a horrible pick up from them.

I've always thought he looked like so much like a VFL player that you could spot it from the moon. Credit to him for sticking around at AFL level for so long though.

We made the right call on Cheney and Buckley - tough calls, but right calls.

Buckley is serviceable but cannot kick, whilst Collingwood can to play a player in the mould of Buckley - we can't.

Chris Johnson was another interesting one, I reckon he'd look back with regrets about leaving us.

Hopefully Gysberts isn't one we regret.

The Gys is the only one of the lot we got rid of that i can see coming back and biting us in the a$$. However is Pedders turns out to be a valuable pick up then it will make no difference to me (as long as he doesn't kill us when we play them!).

He was named in their best

I liked him for the way he went it but I don't think he offers anything over Dunn or Joel MacDonald.

Out of interest does anyone know who we got for the pick we got for him?

Troy Davis Pick 51

I wonder what the last two years will do to the Hawks' psyche?

They've got a few too many off field recruits from other battling clubs.

they haven't looked like winning a chook raffle since 2008.

Or Petterd. Already looking like he can be a big contributor for the Tiges off HB this year.

I thought Cheney was okay, and if he was named in the best he obviously wasn't deplorable.

Interesting how the commentators kept pronouncing his name "Chaney".

It's spelt with an "e" and pronounced "Cheeney". I checked with him personally at an MFC function.

Are people mixing the name up with former WA Lib senator, Fred Chaney?

They also seem unable to grasp that Jack TrenGOVE only has one "r" in his name.

Interesting - as so many have been saying over the years "what if x was at Hawthorn, Collingwood etc.. wouldn't they be a lot better."

Hawks also must have thought that they saw something in him and could fix what we couldn't; maybe it wasn't just 'our poor player development' but rather just him?

Seems to have fitted in nicely in the Hawks' defense. Has been there every time the Dockers have gone deep. Cut off a few low shots at goal.

Hawks fans speak highly of him.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
