Interesting. I went back to 2012 posts, and there was a thread on Jimmy Toumpas well before the draft. Basically members of this board had Toumpas, Wines and Stringer as the pick 4 choice, with Toumpas being the majority choice. How time changes things. Picket Fence had the same opinion as he shows now, so he has been consistent on the Toumpas issue, right from the start.

Many of the best ruckmen have been given time on the rookie list to develop: Jamar, Jolly, Cox, Mumford, Rutten and Sandilands come to mind.. No reason King can't do the same.

They started in the VFA as the Lions. Changed to the Tigers when they partnered with Richmond. When that partnership ended last year, they reverted back to the Lions.

St. Kilda v Melbourne - Match Preview & Team Selection
stingrays replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sandringham Zebras beat St.Kilda in a practice match sometime in the 1960's. Back then many VFA players could earn more in the VFA rather than play in the VFL. Some trivia, but interesting. -
I thought Riley is already on the senior list.
-
The other thing about Ridley is that he had terrible eyesight. Just don't know how he did it!
-
Do you know why he was called "Sugar"? I don't.
-
Of the ones I have seen and can recall, I would go for Ian Ridley. The position doesn't exist anymore but I always thought that Townsend and Emselle were a good pair. Ridley and Spencer must have also played as a combination, but I don't remember Spencer at all.

Probably Round 4, 2005. Fraser Gehrig killed us
-
I thought it Aidan Riley, not Adrian.
-
According to Champion Data his disposal efficiency was over 70% this season. That's better than 75% of the team.

Not sure how Casey Fields is used, and whether it is available to them. Perhaps they may be able to get game time there combining the Casey and MFC lists, and get proper match practice.
-
With the AFL starting earlier in season 2014, the VFL cannot, due to the lack of availability of grounds. Basically means that players not selected will not get game time to press for selection. Not known if non Victorian clubs will face similar situations. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-11-08/vfl-losing-grounds?utm_medium=RSS

Read somewhere that he is expected to sign with Saints tomorrow. Reckons he will get more time in the midfield with them. Has our midfield improved that much? Rumoured that Meblourne, Essendon and Hawthorn have also spoken to him.
-
He was tipped to go in the first round, or early second. Emma Quayle had him at pick 14 to Sydney Swans. His weight/height average was also better than most. No idea what went wrong, but I don't see why MFC should cop all the blame. Perhaps their psychological testing wasn't up to scratch.
-
Interesting to read how they are ranked. Don't recognise most of the names. http://boundforglorynews.com/2013-final-under-18s-power-rankings/

I would have thought Jetta and Bail.
-
And we don't know much about Dom Barry either, except that he is fast.
-
Great and pleased for Mitch, but I don't think Chris Dawes is going as well. Think it has to be more than a calf injury.
-
Wouldn't take an Essendon player. We have drafted a few over the years, and not one of them (I think) has had any great success.

Great Day for the Red and the Blue
stingrays replied to 1 red eye 1 blue eye's topic in Melbourne Demons
Paul Johnson was given best on the ground last week in the Preliminary Final. I believe he was also runner up in the Sandover Medal. Could never quite take the next step, although injuries didn't help. -
Not sure about credit card info. Don't think the club would be that stupid. Plus you would be caught very quickly by the banks. I guess you could sell email addresses, names etc. to other telemarketing companies. Can't see that as their motive though.
-
Don't think that will help if you are a MFC member. They are part of the membership telemarketing group, so I assume they have access to all members details.

NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE
stingrays replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dawes and T.McDonald not playing. Strauss and Viney in. Is it 11.30 or 12.30, considering daylight saving. -
He did get 8 tackles in the match, the most in the match.
