God i hate scarves....between the 3 melbourne supporters in our house we have 30 scarves...no joke...a free one every year for the last 10 years.

I wish they would offer an alternative such as a tie or a flag.

I wouldn't mind a beanee... an el cheapo wrist watch (Dees logo on face, blue and red band) or some such thing in the kids' member pack wouldn't be bad either - as long as it's analog and not digital..

Is anyone connected to the club listening?

You had the option last year of refusing the scarf and either getting a Demons Shop voucher or giving the extra money to the club.

I've got almost as many beanies as I do scarfs - they are really good, but I end up only wearing them when I go camping or to the country. They aren't too flattering... not that I'm vain or anything

I want them to bring back the bandana.

MFC retro headband modelled by Jack V I reckon.

Beeing based in WA i never really saw the point of them, but I flew over to watch the Dee's / Hawks game last year and sitting in the olympic stand with the wind howling and a massive chill factor i found a new respect for the humble scarf.

I hand out the scarves and each year the Membership Team research what to give out the following year and each year it comes back that the scarf is the most 'popular choice', femaies don't want any sort of hat, tie, who wears a tie to the footy?....etc etc..so yes the Club does listen, it is interesting that the scarf is so 'unpopular' yet at every first game of the season we run out as Members collect theirs

I think that's more a case of people claiming what they're entitled to as it is of people loving the scarf.

I often opt out of receiving anything, but the club still usually sends me the scarf; not quite sure what the deal is there.

I would hate to disagree, but we also have a bin full of the packaging removed from the scarf, as they put them on........

I have no doubt that people wear them when they first get them (if they purchase their membership before a game), but I'd be interested to know how many people ever wear the scarf more than that first time. It's easier to wear it than to carry it around with you.

My bet is that the majority of membership scarves end up in the back of wardrobes.

The MFC should create an initiative to recycle old scarves and give them to new immigrants and young people. This would prevent the scarves from wasting away, and would help (hopefully) to grow the supporter base.

I like the scarf. It lets everyone know who is a member and who is not and I find that guilt works to get new members (especially in the MCC).

part of the reason is that the members scarf has the membership year on it, so most members don't want to appear to not be current members by wearing last year's scarf (quite obvious)

remove the membership year embroidery and the scarf option will be less desirous

I don't mind the scarf but sometimes I'd like an alternative like say a cap

For pet memberships a handkerchief scarf (just a square) for dogs to wear. My Lab would proudly wear his.

Love the viney bandana given that I can see cult hero worship emerging amongst all teenage boy members.

I love my scarf because it shows that I support the Club not only as a fan (not the "fan") but also financially.

I suggested a couple of years ago a long weatherproof navy coat with red inside. I have one that I bought from a hockey shop which was not expensive. A little bit of demon embroidery would make it ours. I am happy to show anyone from the Club if they are interested. Maybe they can make contact with the manufacturers. I often get comments when I am at the football as to where I got it and many presume it is a MFC endorsed product..

If you have a lot of scarves you can sew them together and make a rug. Looks great. Get you wife onto it.

I ended up getting some wool and making a scarf blanket for my daughter. She loves it!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
