Oh look! you opened my favourite door, if you have thoughts and opinions yes you can express them, but you need to back them up with facts, stats, observations etc otherwise other posters will ask you why....you will notice further back I asked old Jose why....he hasn't answered so maybe he doesn't know why..why?

Did Brent have his manager suss out his options under free agency?

If thats a fact, then he's opened himself up to speculation on his future at the MFC. Once he did that (or allowed it to be done by his manager) the only way to close down the speculation is to sign a new contract... As we know from Tom Scully's pressers last year, what is said, may not be what is done.

Maldon, my thoughts were

1. "Watched the interview. Never smiled." - you just argued/agreed that he never smiles...

2. "No idea what going on with Brent." - you just argued/agreed that I don't know whats going on with Brent...

3. "Wouldn't be surprised if he leaves." - until he signs a contract we're just speculating...

Not sure why you've got your knickers in such a knot.

[deep] if you had knickers made from a sugar bag you'd understand [/deep]

In your earlier post, you insinuated that his whole career had been dog ordinary. The whole team has been dog ordinary this year because of the massive shift in club culture and playing styles and strategies. Hopefully not only will Brent's form continue to improve but the whole list of players.

If you're unable to give credit for a B&F win then I am more dismayed than you, WYL.

Each to their own Steve. I just do not rate 2011 at all. After 186 all awards given out by thec lub shouldhave been suspended for 12 months. There was too much dirt and blood flying.

We look back only to learn from our mistakes and at the MFC this is now done in a 24 hour window. After that, it's all about the future.

Move with the club, WYL.

Just a sly dig DL7 but I was getting worried there that no-one had yet come out with the old 'bleeds red and blue' in a Beamer thread. You saved the day!

No offense taken Range. Bleeding red and blue in my books isn't being the perfect player it's knowing that when it's your time to go you go. Moloney is not a perfect player; I doubt he would say he is. I have no issue persay with players trying to get the most money out of their contract- it is their job after all and it doesn't last long so each is entitled to milk all they can. It's the clubs responsibility to stop the $$ where it sees fit. Too many on here are quick to throw out a player who finished on 15 Brownlow votes last year with no help around him.

He is not good enough at defensive running and constantly let's down our zone. Watching games from the stands I've seen he can be a liability going backwards but he's spent 6 months with Neeld. Wait 2 years and we'll have a look again.

I have always loved Beamer. I was at the b and f when he potted brock and i cheered him on.

two things have concerened me this season, the first being that in the games his played this year he has looked un interested. He was much better on saturday night but i would like to see him string a few together to be convinced that he is happy where he is.

the other thing is that from many reports i have seen in this site, he was as goods as gone to the bombers at the end of last year but neeld wouldnt let him go. if true, this contradicts everything he has said today.

I am hopeful for a happy ending and he gets back to the form we know he can produce and finishes his career at the dees. its just these points that worry me.

I think if we had our time again we would not have pushed McDonald (and even Miller) out and I think for this reason we will not be dropping Beamer at the end of the season.

Losing Pia was particularly distressing.

you might be onto something there F'em

this could be the missing link in the team's form and morale drop and 186

I've been on Moloney's back this season but it was more for that 'shop window' effort by his manager a few weeks back. I just thought it was poor form given the club was struggling, the supporters were down, to come out and have your proxy basically declare that you wanted out. It reeked of a dummy spit.

Players are more than entitled to seek what they're worth from clubs but there are more tasteful/honourable/discreet ways of doing it than that.

Hopefully it's a lesson learned for him and we can all move on. Neeld appears to be supportive of him so perhaps they've had a solid heart-to-heart and alls-well again. As a supporter I'm certainly prepared to give him another go as I think his pluses over the years have far outweighed the minuses.

I hope he plays out a good 2012 and earns himself another two years at the Dees.

One match does not redeem a career Curry.

What the deuce? His career does not need redeeming! No doubt he's always been a FTB and he's had a poor year, but you make it sound like he's never played a good game ever.

I've been disappointed in both his output on the ground and the words coming out of the mouth of his reckless manager, but let's give some credit where it is due.

The cynic in me tells me that Beamer's manager's mobile hasn't exactly been running hot since that 'waters testing' article in the HUN from a few weeks back and that he has now seen the light - a two year deal at the Dees is his best shot at this stage.

strangely my first thoughts also. lol... must be a cynic too.

All a little bit too Shakespearean possibly :huh:

Absolutely this. It was an appalling look, especially with how sensitive we are about players walking out the door with all the recent events. I think the worst Moloney is probably guilty of is hiring an idiot for a manager who apparently doesn't understand the dynamics of our sport.

Anyway, I'm expecting him to sign soon, and if hopefully he can continue to turn his form around and we can all get off his back once and for all.

Ambivalent really.

I think we'd be better off if he goes, but if he stays, he stays.

How very profound.

Enlighten us on your thoughts- as an armchair critique on the outside looking in- on just how we will be better off if he goes.

I think his career thus far has been disappointing. He still has time to turn it around if he has the mental strength.

Shame on you, no justification to compare T$ with Beamer, he's had a crap year to date, hardly on his own there but he has been a team player in the best sense of the word and certainly earned our respect. Unless you have some hard facts about him shopping himself around pull your head in, having met the man I choose to believe him.

IMO the only disapointing aspect of Beamers career has been his injury problems early on

I backed Beamer up until selection talks here last week and then he pulled out a good game.

The guy is a good ordinary player and better than that on his day .

He is more of a Demon than any of us but he cops too much Sh!t here .

All the idiots that want Judd , Ablett ,Swan types give up-they dont exist .

We've got Beamer who is a stalwart and a leader .

Think you're being a bit unfair WYL. Beamer for the most part has been a good solid citizen in our midfield. There's no shame in not being an A-grader if you put in every week. He hasn't done that this year but over the course of his career I think he gets a pass.

They do exist and we must never give up on un-earthing one (or two). We'll never win a flag if we don't.

Maybe i am being unfair or harsh in my assertion. But both Beamer and Col have more talent than most so i mark them harder.

Yes we have been poor as a side, and seeing them play well in a Neeld team was very encouraging.

The season is at 50%. If Col & Beamer fire they will remain required. Bleeding Red & Blue is not a good enough reason.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
