He would be best served by keeping his mouth shut, and letting his footy (if he gets on the park) do the talking.

The selling of Blacktown 1, 2, 3 !!

And so the revisionists spin spews forth.

Its not Us...its Him !!

My god is he really that gullible that he believes anyone wil lbuy this drivel ? Still it's sycophant heaven up there isnt it.

Its really quite funny .

"It would have been incredibly difficult to leave if we were playing well and playing finals footy. I knew the list was in a good place, but I wasn't sure where the club was at back then."

As opposed to knowing where GWS are at? and they are going to play finals?

What a crock of sh#t. I am so over this bloke.

This kid doesn't know when to shut up.

It's incredulous.

He's starting to look like quite the simpleton.

Why doesn't he just say "The money was too good to refuse" We all know it, and most would just say fair enough. All of this dribble coming out of his mouth just makes him look like a [censored].

Or even better still, why doesn't he just shut up and say nothing at all.

Satan- Nice thread title by the way. funny that I knew exactly what it was about before even looking.

The latest story seems to confirm Dr. Larkins' analysis of Scully's knee issues i.e he will need to manage the stress and load of his work to avoid serious problems flaring up. He's following precisely the required formula to control the situation - which is exactly what one would expect from Scully who is known for the meticulous way he prepares himself.

My suggestion to Tom is to STFU.

Now that he has been revealed as a money-chasing traitor and is playing for an irrelevant club, nobody gives a crap what he has to say anymore.

Funny how the "turmoil" affected no one but him. Lying pathetic scumbag.

Cannot wait to see our boys smash him in round 13. Might give him some real turmoil to deal with

It's just like some posters predicted in the beginning (not naming any names).

Gubby Allen created an environment / situation where the frenzy of panic merchant dees supporters drove him from the club.

I think you're giving Allen too much credit. He just waved a big fat cheque book. Money is the elephant in the room when $cully starts waffling about "playing finals", "building a club", "opportunity" and being "courageous" (I can't believe he said that about himself!). He will continue to colour it the way he needs to but his Dad's appointment was the exclamation mark on his and his families real motivation.

Perhaps this is best seen as advice from one princess to another: "You needn't worry about your reward.

If money is all that you love, then that's what you'll receive"

And again..."Your friend is quite the mercenary. I wonder if he really cares about anything. Or anybody."

Sweet Leia, tom cares about himself and he' daddy.

''I'm only young and I'm going to be looking to our older guys for guidance, but most of the players here are new to the system and are looking to find out how to train or how to set standards,'' he said. ''I enjoy that, and I do want to be a leader. That was part of the challenge of coming up here and we're only a few days into pre-season but I'm enjoying it already and I do want to fast track my leadership skills."

Hmmm... Considering that character and integrity are at the core of LEADERSHIP, you have got a long, long way to go.

What a drip.

Ed: oh, and honesty too....

There's a similar fluff piece in The Age today written by Emma Quayle who churned out a surprisingly poor article with the same tired cliches.

In it he describes his choice to move to GWS as 'the courageous' one; and if chasing a football around for $1 million dollars per year is courageous, I think I could be courageous too.

The Gruen Planet should do a feature on the TS brand. It's been as poorly managed as it possibly could be.

Love the random Star Wars reference!

I don't feel sorry for him, but it was definitely wrong for GWS to go after Tom. The pressure placed on the kid in just his second would no doubt have made 2011 a bloody tough year for him, but he has made his decision and he'll live with it for the rest of his career.

And he'll have to get used to the scruitiny because until he starts returning on the GWS investment he will always be under the microscope.

Two $cully articles in the papers bagging Melbourne and yet Greg Denham did not bag Melbourne once on SEN with KB. Wonders will never cease. What next? Australia rolled for 47?

""I didn't know sort of where the club was at . . . all that crazy stuff going on when Dean got sacked, it put a bit of uncertainty in the minds of the players,"

Yep clearly it did, and it justifies you leaving Thomas. Let's try and forget that Jack Trengove made a statement at the same point of the year and signed a long-term deal.

"Scully admits he knew of the GWS offer through his management company early in the piece but is steadfast in his denials a decision was made before the end of the season, as many have claimed." - Quote from Interview in Herald Sun today.

Now remind me what he said in his press conference about not knowing anything about an offer either through his management, dad , or anyone.

This is the part I don't like about the whole saga. As Jimmy said, this will turn young kids into liars and it has.

All that crazy stuff like the two senior executives at GW$ getting the flick in a month or so? That must be worrying for him. The fact his father was negotiating behind the back of the Swans shows they are cut from the same cloth.

Anyone on here still willing to suggest that he didn't lie and that he didn't know what the offer was and where he was going many months before he left?

Me, I reckon we're better off without him, I must say I never felt comfortable with him at the club as opposed to Watts and Trenners, I reckon they'll be there their whole careers and both seem to have impeccable integrity and character as opposed to the $nake who appears to have neither of those qualities.

It would appear that he is where he should be amongst the dregs of the AFL (Junior excluded) and will go down in history as the most overpaid flop in the competition. I look forward to the time when the recruits of 2011 start to abandon them and return to honest clubs.

Geez I am so glad that this divisive, vain, conceited, confused, hypocritical mercenary is no longer at our club.

The instability abetted by his antics over 2011 stuffed up any opportunity we may have had to progress.

GOODBYE!!

Posted

The "I believe in Tom" crowd must SURELY be coming around the the fact that he signed long ago now. Surely.

Surely?

We don't know if he lied in that presser.

I do know that his character is not what I thought it was. I will say that.

He would say that uncertainty at the club led to his decision to leave - that may be. He says that it was the braver decision to leave - that may be.

But Trengove wasn't rattled by the uncertainty and was brave in his decision to sign on until 2015.

I think it is time to move past this little simpleton and his unscrupulous family.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
