Couldn't watch it after woeful beginning. Why can't the indigenous code have an Australian musician/s.

I wonder how much he got paid for that crap?

$1m that could have been spent on junior footy. This is an absolute disgrace. He is just past it. His backup singer was great however.

So glad I slept through that pre-match entertainment!

Good move. Probably the worst of all time. Bring back Angry Andersen and the Batmobile. Even the female Aboriginal opera singer who sang off key was better.

Meatloaf was a disgrace...he looked like he was wasted on some drug, and continually sang off key.

This is one area the AFL can never get right.

They should either get a "current" act like a Foo Fighters or Black eyed peas or something.

Or an aussie act like Wolfmother.

The pre-match entertainment used be a full on production, with lots of colour and local talent (remember the 2000 "Do The Cazaly" - I think that was what it was called - dance?). Now it seems they just throw too much money to any washed up singer and have a few cars that go around the ground. Borrrrring..

Aussie Rules still has an air of daginess about it, and to be honest, the likes of Angry Anderson, Lionel Ritchie and Meat Loaf sit pretty comfortably with the character of the game. Having said that, Meat Loaf's perfomance certainly wasn't worth that money.

Another washed up rock band like Guns 'n' Roses or Aerosmith would be great for next year!

After Lionel Ritchie went so well last year, very disappointed with Meatloaf who I thought would be a great act.

Thought it was just the speakers at the G, but then we got a whole lot of texts from family watching on tv saying how bad it was.

Good writeup by Leaping Larry in todays age on him.

Cut Meatloaf some slack - he just about dragged himself out of his deathbed for that performance.

The poor guys is not doing well these days.

The "poor guys" NEVER done well. Pomp rock stunk first time around and and doesn't smell any better 30 years on! Pity he didn't stay in his death bed (or should that be "tone deaf" bed) rather than subject us to that rubbish. It's about time the AFL provided entertainment relevant to the times rather than supporting hacks like Mr Loaf and Mr Ritchie.

What a shame we didn't manage to land Kelly Clarkson instead.

Apparently Dr Hook is already locked in for next years GF with Tommy Steele doing the National Anthem (Cliff Richard was otherwise engaged)

Were you there last year? Lionel was brilliant. Everyone was up and singing along with him. Surprisingly it really worked.

Meatloaf - should have been the same, but just didn't work.

At least they would have entertained the five and unders!

Another Dumbitrou triumph of mediocrity, wasting the clubs' and players' money.

Dr.Hook - everyone will be able to sing their karaoke favorites - maybe even the the Doc will stick to the choon too...."when your body's had enough....blalbla balah...)

Think anybody will know who Tommy Steele is?

Should think Australian and get Rolf Harris and his wobble board to do it....

Err, then again most of the crowd these days wouldn't have much idea who he is either!!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
