The players have made a statement as to how they feel about the coach today.

I think thats true. No point singling out players when the issue must be the club as a whole. there are many issues.

With Casey losing by 128 and we are down by over 100 at half time, fair to say not a good day!

for me, it has just gotten to the point where this is actually funny. I mean 114 points down at half time, c'mon, i don't even know how to respond to that. ah well, Carlton next week...

I do like Bailey, but there is no way he can continue on after this game, he needs to step down.

I have been a devout supporter of this club for 13 years. I go to every Melbourne game, I buy a membership, I donate to the club, but I am absolutely 100% done.

This is not an emotional, angry, over the top reaction, this is me making a decision that until Dean Bailey and Brad Green are no longer there, I am not going to participate in supporting this club.

My membership money will still be there, but I won't be.

I have had a gutfull of being kicked in the nuts by this club.

If Bailey is coaching us next week and Brad Green is not rotting at Casey where he should have been weeks ago, then I won't be wasting my time on this club.

Watching that first half was like having someone punch me in the face over and over again. I feel physically ill.

Never ever ever again should we have to put up with this sort of [censored].

I don't know where we can go from here. This is the most soul destroying, pathetic performance I have ever seen. I was actually up for giving Bailey an extension into 2012, but I don't know how I can cop him being our coach after this week let alone next year.

The fact is this performance is a reflection on him, the players have no pride for themselves, the club, and the coach, otherwise they would've shown some fight.

Jordie Mac and Jonesy are the ONLY ones out there that are actually trying to have a go. No one is running, no one is trying to tackle, and for gods sake is anyone going to try to pick up a man? I was happy to see Watts get fired up and show a bit of anger, at least it shows he's hurting.

I'm not going to watch the second half, I can't stomach it, I will find out what the final score is tomorrow in the paper. I'm half expecting a press conference on Monday with the club saying it was some kind of elaborate prank, because i just can't believe it's got this bad.

Bailey should step down Viney should be given the job till the end of the season. Connolly should step down and Laidley should be appointed head of the Football department. Green should step down and Trengove should be appointed Captain, if he want's to. The recruiting department should be sacked for recruiting such a bunch of pathetic wimps. Sylvia should be traded for someone that gives a [censored]. Jurrah should be sent to Casey and told that he won't be played until he learns that it's a team game and not just about him.

There are many other changes but that's a start and until they do I won't be giving any more cash to support the current bunch of no hopers.

Its pretty obvious there is serisously something wrong at our club.

Is it a all the Scully speculation and money offer?

The total lack of leadership?

The regret of sacking Junior?

The supposed infighting between connolly and Bailey

But probably more than that....stuff behind the scenes we dont know about.

After today im pretty sure Baileys gone, Green will be stood down in favour of say .....a grimes

Id say not only Bailey but the whole coaching panel.

Positive:

If we just go home, and the margin is over 500-600 points, Collingwood won't be #1 on the ladder at the end of the round.

Ha ha ha....yeah not a bad idea!...

And some got all heated last weekend saying the crowd against Hawthorn was bad....... Why would you watch? Footballers are supposed to be providing entertainment. Pure and simple. It's peoples disposable income. This is not entertainment, this is embarrassing.

People will use their disposable incomes in other ways now. This is breaking the Melbourne Football Club

The entire football department needs to be stood down immediately

I'd start with the senior players. Terrible for younger players like Nicholson, Howe, Tapscott etc. to be out there with this going on. Where are the role models, the leaders?

Some deep-seated cultural problems at the club for this to be happening. It's all very well sorting out the debt, and loading up on young guns, but if it's rotten at the core ...

Hopefully we can win one of the next two quarters. Then Bailey can talk about the disappointment of losing three out of four. In truth, the senior players should be dropped. This is disgraceful. But Bailey will have to resign and leave Viney in charge for the last 5 games. We then need to throw everything at Clarkson. There must be change.

Not on TV here for a couple of hours - don't think I could...

From the stats - 0 for Moloney and 1 handball for Green.

Frawley and McKenzie the only Dees in double figures.

What gives?

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol
