  1. 'Their man' didn't hit the lead until the last round. If he was suspended he wouldn't have got the votes to win, so it wasn't a Corey McKernan/Chris Grant situation. I'm just glad Neale didn't win again. The bloke doesn't even get tagged because of his ineffectiveness, yet he polls his [censored] off. It is laughable.
  2. Shows how long I've been on here (despite lack of posts) but I still remember your Josh Kennedy mail.
  3. Interesting listening to Ben Brown on SEN this morning. When asked about how the group treated the bye round, his response: "Yeah, we took it as a bit of an opportunity to have some de-load time, and a little bit of time off legs. In amongst that though, the training we did do was of a really high intensity. We did some match-play on the Thursday, and it was good to have that bit of a run around because it sorted us pretty well in last years finals series which was pretty well documented" Good to have some de-load time and a little bit of time off legs. Hmmmm.
  4. Dangerfield saying that they have "pretty much set themselves up for this game all year" is exactly what I wanted to hear (and have said to Melbourne supporting mates). They had something to prove after we flogged them in the Preliminary Final last year... and they brought it on Thursday. That was their peak... they've shown us what they can bring to the table and it still wasn't enough to really blow us away. Let's see how they go when WE bring our peak game in a fixture that actually matters. They (or anyone else) aren't matching what we served up to Brisbane when we had something to prove after 3 losses in a row.
  5. We obviously don't have the data that the clubs have, but the AFL app is pretty good for looking at patterns with the stats and trackers on there. Things we have been renowned for the last year or so: - team defence - run and spread - pressure - strong second halves We are waaaay down on those the last month or so, e.g. our average team km/hr when opposition has the ball (team defence) is generally 8.5-9.0km/hr when firing. The last month... down into the low-mid 7km/hr. Our run and spread is down, our pressure acts are down, our second halves are down. All of the above pointers are not dependent on the opposition... they're dependent on us and our effort. You don't just simply forget how to play hard-running, team defence, with rabid pressure in the space of a month or two... but it can be bloody difficult if the body isn't willing. I genuinely believe we're in our heavy training phase as has been discussed in the other thread, and as a result our boys are running around in lead boots at the moment. The gameplan suffers as a result too. Same happened to us last year, but we were firing when it was needed.
  6. I was sure he was a North Melbourne supporter
  7. Robbie Flower would dominate on a wing in today's game. He is literally built for today's style of footy. Imagine him and Langers on each wing, then Gus slotting inside the guts. Mouth watering.
  8. Got my email last week for my signed guernsey... was really excited. Tracking updated 11:50am Tuesday 'Onboard for delivery', 'Estimated arrival Tuesday 23/11'. Even more excited. 3 days later... still waiting for it to arrive. Pretty frustrating.
  9. Hahahaha. You literally beat me by 10sec I think.
  10. Max was a smokie out of the draft... then Junior McDonald caught him whilst driving to training and it put a stop to that habit.
  11. Clearly my FB 'Furphy' about sneaking into the Bulldogs room at half time and dropping a fart à la Mark Bickley at half-time of the 1993 Preliminary Final which is what caused both Adelaide and the Bulldogs to capitulate in the second half didn't cut the mustard to get a slab. Disappointing.
  12. Thought I'd make my own merchandise:
  13. Eyes were welling up by 3QT. Fritsch goal 3min into 4th Quarter saw me absolutely break down crying uncontrollably. Literally bawling my eyes out. Mind you, fatigue from a 2 week old first born probably was a slight contributing factor. Haha.
  14. Hi all, random... but does anyone have a 2021 Adult Home Guernsey in a medium/large that they would like to sell? I've looked absolutely everywhere and no more available unfortunately. Either that or any ideas on where some may still be available?
  15. Oh wow. Okay, an extra $8000. Hmmm
  16. Yeah, I did a pre-order during the last quarter and Upgrade #1 and Upgrade #5 weren't options. Bit confused also.
  17. Come on Demons, 57 years, it's our time to stand tall Not crumble at our knees like when Duckwood gets the ball A free for this, a free for that, that's the Geelong way Let's put an end to their era, and show these pu$$ies how to play
  18. Sky is the limit with this group. Youngest side to win a final since Bulldogs in 2016... just need to keep it together.
  19. ... and this individual success has all been driven by a personal decision by Clarry to be a better 'team player'. It is so good to see.
  20. 1994-1995 should be in this list. Absolutely cruelled by injury in that era. All Australian's in each area of the ground (Lyon - Half Forward, Tingay - Wing, Neitz - Half Back). Schwarz performing at Wayne Carey levels. Jakovich having 10-11 shots on goal each week. Jim Stynes probably the best ruck in the competition. Prypke excelling at Full Back. Viney, and Lovett's in the guts. Massive missed opportunity.
  21. As frustrating as it is, I look at it like this... he is getting to the contest and making a good fist of it. That is half the battle. The hands will come with more consistent game time and some confidence. He could have kicked 5-6 goals the other night with the contests and positions he was putting himself in, but unfortunately he is just not holding them. 5-6 goals is a solid day out against a solid opponent. It will come eventually.
  22. I'm excited to see what Jason Taylor manages to pull from the rough. I've said it before, but each time there is a contract negotiation with him, just give him a blank cheque. His eye (and those that work with him) for talent is outstanding
  23. Yeah, his name was Tom Hawkins... and he got away with it despite breaking a cheekbone
  24. Cop the week?!? Bugger off!!! Hawkins fractures May's eye socket and got off no case to answer. Fritsch caused no injury at all to the kid and gets a week. If this isn't overturned on dispute, I'll be astounded.
  25. Yes! People have short memories. TMac was a very very solid 1st defender only 4yrs ago. He would be taking on a 3rd forward in our current team. He should dominate... strengthening up an already outstanding defence
