Has been on the cards for some time, good luck Aussie.

If what you are doing isn't making you happy, then stop doing it. A shame for the club in the circumstances but there is a much bigger picture here.

For personal reasons. Just announced on SEN ...

Family first, footy second always..

Tough though to hear.

Must be a hard decision for him, but family comes first!

Do we think that he will be back this season?

Edited title accordingly.

Now we're thin on short forwards for the time being.

Short forwards, attacking backs, ruckmen, midfielders....basically everything really

It is a real shame but not unexpected given the circumstances. I hope he does return at some time in the future because I would be concerned that it could potentially effect Jurrah's performance and commitment to his footy career as well, given how much they enjoy playing together.

I get the feeling it might be different to, say, a Troy Taylor - let's just give him time at the moment. We know the club has a superb mentoring system for the indigenous players, this is where it comes into effect.

Has obviously been an ongoing issue all year. Good to hear that he has the courage to admit that he needs some time to sort through this tough time.

Absolutely devastating news. I know he's been struggling a bit, but hopefully this issue is what has been eating at him. Please let this not be an untimely end to what could have been a great career. I'll miss ya Aussie, good luck.

Yeah I agree the club has some good structures in place to suppor the indigenous players but they can only do so much.

Grief is inconsiderate intruder in ones life. It cares not for who or where you are in your journey. Iit just visits without informing about any date it wishes to leave. :(

Aussie will need to deal with it amongst those who understand. Football is a part of his life but not his life and he'll need to come to terms with a lot thats missing, a lot that once made sense and now doesnt.

I wish him well, i wish him healing and eventually a hapiness realised in the memory of the ones he cherished and now mourns.

Dont worrry about the football, just care for those that need it, yourself included.

Lifes road will take you where youre meant to go. Good luck with that.

He won't be back.

Good luck mate.

Strangely that was my very first gut reaction....both bits !!

Good luck mate.

Yeah, this was my initial reaction as well. All we can do is hope that he can get himself firing again, and that he's able to sort everything out. Can't imagine how hard this must be for him.

All the best mate, and hope to see you back on the field soon!

Whatever criticisms have been thrown at Bailey about his coaching, the article shows him in a good light.

Best of luck to Aussie - hope he's back soon.

I hope young Aussie can spend some needed time with family and friends and come out of the situation stronger for it. I hope he is back and can get some consitancy as I still feel like he has potential to be an above average player.

Aussie has had to deal with so many setbacks since the start of his short career, but his injuries are miniscule by comparison with this one. All the very best Aussie, and well done Melbourne Football Club.

The MFC should be congratulated for its understanding of Aussie's need for a break to clear his head and go through some necessary grieving with his family back in the Tiwi.

There is every chance that he'll come back better than ever. Good luck Aussie and well done Demons.

Good Luck Aussie your Melbourne family will always be here for you and yours.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
