Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Trade Hogan for Neale, Langdon and pick 6 (Max King) and swap 2nd round picks to get O'Halloran. I think that is a good deal. Hogan is no longer needed and is on huge money I think we should make the move now.

That's just ridiculous. He's needed, will stay, unless he has second thoughts. But I'm not as against a trade as others on here, were it to arise.

Howerver, your trade scenario is irrational. No way Freo would give up that.

Hogan is most definitely a keeper...

Adding Neale to our midfield would be insanely very good though!

I actually like the Dees current list and feel we have a strong 22 already and depth.

Neale in a trade and Gaff in Free Agency! Wow! Wouldn’t that be a get for the MFC. Throw in Preuss...

Realistically what is Hogan worth to us a year all things considered, then what would another club ie Freo possibly pay him a season. I think the gap has widened in the last 3 weeks.

We tried various combinations of three talls during the middle part of season and settled on 2, Weed only came back into the side after Hogan was injured. The Weed has blown every one with his last 3 weeks. With Lever also to come back in I think someone’s going to miss.

Things are never static 'Bombay'...

Think Boyd's finals series a couple of years back, and how is he going now. Not saying Weed will go the same way but you never know.

Hogan is a gun...no matter how many try to reinvent history.

Also the game will change next year, tall players with a good tank like Hogan will be priceless if the AFL get their way and we see a more free and open game.

You don't give away class like Hogan unless he wants to leave.

I personally think he’s better off playing beteen the arcs, I think that suits his skill set.

What would Freo give up then? Forget Langdon and they would have to give up that much to get him.

Neale is off to Brissy, spent last week up there touring facilities and meeting coaches. Lock it in Eddie.

What has the tradewhisperer™️ heard re Gaff? Oh yeh, he’s currently weighing up his options however Gold Coast has made a mammoth offer and throw in ex-Suns Lynch’s Ambassador pay to him as well. Gaff is around an 87% chance of being a Sun next season. #ETthetradewhispererisgettingcrispier.

We'd ask for 5 plus Andrew Brayshaw, and probably settle for 5 plus Langdon or 5 plus Freo 2019 first rounder

In that case I'd use 5 to tempt a star like Whitfield or Shiel, though talk is hot on Shiel to Bombers.

Mr Leg, where did I say this?

I think it would be a great statement for Jesse to re-sign before the October trade period. After all, he loves the club, he loves living in Melbourne and we are on the rise. Gives him certainty during recovery from foot injury and the club would have clarity. I want him to stay, I've posted that repeatedly, but a strong club is more than any one player.

No sane person wants to push Jesse out. With his contract coming up in 13 months, wouldn't it be fantastic for him to recommit soon rather than watch it drag on?

Not saying you said it Moonie, it was in answer to those who did.

This article is a joke.

I think we all know he will move to WA as all players go home eventually but it will be on the terms of if the club starts to rebuild or we trade him because he is underperforming.

Jessy is a gun, just about to come into his prime in a team well and truly on the way up.  After coming out of contract a few years back when we were ordanary, he signed a pretty decient medium term contract with us.  As far as I'm concerned he is one of ours and no MFC supporter should be speculating over his future at another club.

Can someone close down this thread?  It really doesn't deserve any oxygen.

god that roar website is trash

what part of 'not a free agent' do these keyboard warriors not understand?

even if he WAS - which he won't be until he enters his eighth afl season, in 2021  - he would be a restricted free agent, enabling us to have the option of matching and / or forcing a trade

if - and it's a big IF - he chooses to leave after 2021 and having played in back to back to back premierships (having missed out in the first run of four in 2018) then we won't lack for compensation options for a approaching 27 year old gun mobile key forward

Lol trade Hogan because Melbourne have too many key forwards, to then draft another key forward to improve our KPP stocks after the Hogan departure. Makes perfect sense.

yep it's a question of degree... what if a club makes a wild ball offer for Hogan just like the Dogs did for Boyd say.

Match it and then lose who in the years to come along with the acrimony that comes with a wage that is way out of kilter. The giving club doesn't get to match and force a trade. It gets the option to match and see if it can get a trade at that price. You can be assured that the paying club will not trade at that price because the absence of a need to trade has been built into the original offered price.

The smart thing is to sign him up now or trade him.

Gaff is a perfect example of how a club loses out even if the departing player is an RFA let alone an FA.

i believe crows are the only team, thus far, to be happy to match and thus force a trade - they got pick 9 (milera), pick 28 (on traded alongside kerridge in a truly awful trade for troy menzel) plus dean gore for dangerfield and pick 50

don't forget that if a team does match and a trade then can't be organised, the player goes into the open draft or the psd, where they can put a price on their head

but if hogan was available at 26 turning 27 going into 2022, you can't tell me that whoever holds pick 1 that year wouldn't snap him up

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
