Love posters who we never here from until things go South List howlers - give me a spell, Brown came for 3 years would likely have gone elsewhere if we offered 2. Managed perfectly in our premiership year Tmac been a great servant to the club, but time and injuries have taken their toll Let’s be honest the way they straightened us up through the back end of 21, we don’t win it without them23 points

This thread is called TRADE RUMOURS, not only post things that are 100% going to happen. Part of the fun of the trade period is the wild rumours. Keep it up @Nudge21 points

Guys, I can let you know that the lifestyle story around Grundy to Sydney is not quite correct. More accurately is that Longmire impressed far more than Hinkley and the two 23 year olds Ken brought to the meeting. It is also looking likely that JJ will also select the Swans.20 points

I guess it might be now but back when we recruited Brown it took the 4 year deal to get it over the line. We won the flag so in my eyes will always be worth it. He's a good guy too, who is doing some great things with the AFLW program. Unlikely he'll play any senior footy again but I'm sure will lob onto the long term injury list at some point and enable us to pick up another player.18 points

Demons have something cooking… had one of the most heartwarming wry grins I’ve seen in a LONG time last night —- in response to a question about how we’re gonna fill these list spots & why were no longer in frame for pick 4 — suddenly I feel warm and fuzzy inside… Lets hope it wasn’t just to perk me up a bit.. keep an eye on the headlines folks! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏18 points

Current situation is a bummer, but in terms of list management BBB's contract terms got him to us and helped us win a flag, and pretty sure it was reported that TMac's last extension spread his money over more years, providing cap space to lock in our Tracs and Olivers, etc.16 points

Whatever, I am happy for people to keep posting rumours, as long as they are just not made up. I am reduced to reading DL trades/drafts etc, as my footy team is out of the finals.15 points

I’m also going to take a stab and say the Anderson component of Nudge’s news at the time was prior to GC getting additional draft assistance to pair Rowell and Anderson. Might well have been right about that selection and who we were focused on. That domino led to Jackson, and the major piece in the Jackson compensation is likely to be impacted by North getting assistance due to their crapulence. This annoys the hell out of me. Also, do we need to fact check people on the rumours thread?10 points

I report what I hear, and I’d post all the above again too — as at time it was all stuff I was hearing regularly. The naivety about how much is tossed spring this time of year is incredible. The hill stuff was 💯 from someone AT the club AT the time, just like Henry early in year was seen as a lock, before he balled out and value tripled and Freo tanked, things change things. McDonald trade fell through due to various reasons. Anderson was wishful thinking from many, it’s reported here ALWAYS with the pretext of intelligent ppl understanding how little of what’s discussed comes to fruition.. haters are advised to ignore, it’s that simple. Mamma Mia 🤦♂️10 points

There is stuff above from Nudge that has come true and stuff that didn’t come through, that’s nothing unusual. Not every rumour put out there comes off but it doesn’t mean it was never a chance of happening. It’s called a rumour page for a reason and not a fact page10 points

I can’t say — as in I don’t know. But we can all hope and dream! But I walked away with knowledge that either Dees or Saints were gonna have a big big win this off-season, as that’s what I was lead to blv, but fact club are trying super hard is enough for me as I have faith if they have a plan, they’ll execute.10 points

The dog sat down on the bed and accidentally pressed the remote with his hefty bottom with 5 seconds left in the game. He is a therapy dog I tell you.9 points

At the game tonight. The silence at half time is akin to watching an MFC practice match at Casey, at half time. The pies supporters are rattled. They assumed that 2023 was their god given right to win a flag after their prelim heart break last year. May it continue into the second half.9 points

Also, if you compare their body of work at same stage, Frawley is streets ahead of McKay. Was an AA defender and 130+ games under his belt. Roos played him out of position in his last season and he still was one of our better players up forward (a few games of 10+ marks in a pretty moribund fwd line). Went on to play 100 games for Hawks including premierships. Bizarre that people say Dees were given overgenerous compensation.9 points

North seeking pick 3 compo for Mckay North seeking pick 11 mid first round charity North seeking access to Sanders via NGA with a special charitable exception to match any bid North has pick 2 North already has LDU, Simpkin, Wardlaw, Larkey, Sheezel , Thomas and Phillips. Msybe give them 12 bonus points at the start of next year ps AFL response to Dees in 2014 after asking for assistance AFL concluded that while Melbourne has a poor on field record in recent times, this does not of itself constitute “exceptional circumstances” or a justification for awarding priority draft selections.9 points

Rumours at this time of year for Melbourne are all the hope we have. Go for it Nudge. Hope your info is us getting Bontompelli, Oscar Allen, Josh Kelly and Harley Reid. That'd be a handy trade season.9 points

Aren't you well known on here over the years for completely making stuff up and having a zero strike rate??9 points

This year Fritsch averaged 2.2, Pickett 1.6 and Melksham 1.5. In 2022 Fritsch averaged 2.3, Pickett 1.8 and Brown 1.6. In 2021 Fritsch averaged 2.5, Pickett 1.6, McDonalnd 1.3 (special mention to Brown who averaged 1.9 from only games). The last 3 years McAdam has averaged 1.7, 1.5, 1.7. From his limited games. I don't think his goals per game average is a problem, it's a strength. At the end of the day he is replacing Melksham in the forward line for a few years as a defensive forward who can kick goals the other way (he played on Lever when we played them trying to disrupt his intercepting). We aren't paying a lot for him. But he has a spot as a role player over the next few years if he can keep form.9 points

A million bucks plus and two key forward list spots wasted heading into 2024. Both did not contribute meaningfully at all in 2023. Any way you look at it that’s a list management howler. Worse than the Grundy trade if we’re being honest. Who was responsible for it? Will it hamstring our chances to win the flag next year? Should we try to come to an arrangement with at least one of these players to call time on their careers? That’s a hell of a lot of cash allocated to Casey ‘mentors’ and to have sitting in the rehab room. Worth a discussion even if some find it uncomfortable. Elephant in the room stuff for mine. 🏡🐘8 points

WAFL Colts Grand Final Sunday 12.10pm BD Perth time some good players on show for this year and next Claremont Daniel Curtin - enough been said about him, with seniors knocked out he returns to the colts Joe Fonti - quick deck and wide ground will suit him, running half back/wing possesses speed, but it’s the lateral movement and acceleration over first 5m which may see him taken with late pick Zane Zakostelsky - athletic big man watch his leap and size. Fairly late to the game and far but think clubs will look at him as key sevens I’ve project Sam Van Rooyen- 2 good finals games and finished the season strongly. Good athlete and when he’s on he’s on. Confidence player who has threatened to grab games by the scruff of the neck of late 2024 eligible Austin Van Der Struyf - half back wing, elite kicking skills awareness and decision maker Cody Angove - small forward with pace works high up the ground and possesses ability to move through traffic with quick feet and lateral movement Hamish Davis - forward with good acceleration and tank to find space and make repeat leads. Kicking needs work but topped goal kickers in the PSA and IMO could develop into a high half forward link player with his endurance Perth Aidan O’Driscoll - great tank, speed, awareness and decision making. Foot skills are very good and impacts the scoreboard Jake Watson- half back flanker who is good mark for his size and reads the play really well. Sets up much of their rebound with intercepts and decision making Coen Livingston- not sure if he’ll play as he’s under an injury cloud. Big strong forward/ruck but see his strength as forward. Not athletic but good kick for a tall Elijah Scoble - tall intercept defender who reads play well and also deceptively strong in contest. Probably a 3rd tall option at the next level Oscar Hine-Baston - hard running defender with clean ground ball skills and penetrating kick. Good athlete and likes to take the game on. Very much and Adam Saad type player Kalib Dempster-Park - dark horse draft chance. Midfielder who has had really strong season. Hard runner who wins the contest but gut runs to find space and gets involved in transition. Disposal okay but just knows how to find the footy 2024 eligible Cooper Moore - small mid/forward . Good decision maker with good foot skills who can also play through the middle and make an impact. Cool head who is cool in traffic and doesn’t panic with ball in hand. Size will be the question mark but has a lot of tools8 points

Retire Brown. Can't afford to carry a player that is constantly missing games each year due to cooked knees. I'd happily trade/retire McDonald but I think he stays purely for depth and being a long time servant of the club they'll want to do the right thing by him.8 points

Yeah I make it up.. cus as a workaholic, 4 kids, a huskey and an unhealthy reading habit I have time to make things up for the reason of.. if dunno.. catfishing??? I report what I hear and always have/will, and even then it’s a MINUTE amount, sooo much gets thrown up and tossed aside, some of the crazy stuff I don’t list ends up true ie Grundy mid last year. The more you Know peeps in the industry the more you realise how much is muted about, go watch the player agent docos — LOADS of stuff gets leaked and talked about. My rule is if it’s single source, unless directly club linked I don’t share — if it’s same topic multiple ppl then I share, but even that’s limited! Go ask any afl list manager how many players per year they talk to agents of or to other clubs about.. it’d be 30+ EVERY year7 points

It's funny how the narratives go. Landsberger saying Grundy will go cheaply, because he was not in our semi final 23, yet for JJ a premiership player, who was in the semi final 23, they will say he is worth nothing as compo. Then they are pushing a McKay compo pick 2, for the Roos, for a guy who is a perennially injured, ordinary player, who I believe has some of the worst contest stats in the AFL. The media clearly run the narratives, but luckily not the actual situations.7 points

You arrived here 5 minutes ago and I haven't seen too much "lauding". Tim Lamb and the MFC list management team have done a superb job over many years and there are always going to be some outliers. Just take a look at our list of out of contract players over the next two years - only Sparrow and Bowey really warrant a major pay increase next year and Petty and Van Rooyen's new contract will be offset by May and Gawn moving to short term contracts or retiring. We'll be freeing at least $2M of salary cap to target a gun FA or trade. And our list management teams' record suggest they'll successfully pull it off.7 points

I'm in the dog house myself after refraining from watching it for 2 quarters then pulling a sneak peak and then proceeding to yell and scream at the TV for the duration. I cannot wait for this season to end.6 points

What are your terms and conditions for acceptability in those given circumstances. Now unless you were there, and either a player agent, a list manager, or the player themselves, you’re entitled to an opinion no matter how articulate , but actually have no idea about what got things over the line. have Richmond made an unacceptable list management decision with T Lynch, considering there is a similar trajectory? contributed nothing? That’s in the eye of the beholder - if you think that football clubs only operate in a vacumn for 2 hours of game day…6 points

Impossible to call Brown a howler we took over his contract and without him we dont win a flag. Knowing TMac had been up and down in form and injury we should not have extended him a year earlier than when he came out of contrat and certainly not for the length we did. He had just come off a good year and we were trying to not allow free agency get in the way. We should have rolled the dice.6 points
