Highlights of the captain’s run = firstly, the 7 year old kid next to us getting a signed ball over the fence from Clarrie. He could’ve popped with joy. Secondly, the ‘hearts’ in my wife’s eyes when Lingers jogged by smiling. I reminded her she was old enough to be his mum and then some. Zero care factor. GO DEES!20 points

Not to defend GNF, but if you hate his/her posts/think they're rubbish; why not just block him/her? Makes for a better site than the current personal attacks.17 points

Players out on the field are the 22 that lined up against Brisbane plus Salem, Van Rooyen, Bedford, Smith, Dunstan minus Jordon16 points

Does anyone else feel like we're just about to shift into another gear and steamroll through to the GF like last year?15 points

The boys all moved well despite knee bandages on Gus, Kozzie and Trent. No knee bandages on BBB, Max or Salo, which is really good news. Here's a few pics from the session. ADMIN EDIT: Pics have been move to this posts. Flower Magic's Photos14 points

I honestly don’t care what the FD does with draft picks especially as we are in our window. BUT In no way should COLLINGWOOD. GET. A. FIRST. ROUND. PICK. FOR. GRUNDY. I DGAF what people think about ‘help for Gawn’ or ‘proven finals player’ he is an injury prone player that a club is trying to ‘salary dump’ - you don’t get a good pick back for that. rp out13 points

One of the best things about this session was before it happened. Out on the ground were a whole stack of young kids kicking the ball amonst themselves.....and all wearing Demon jumpers. That hasn't been seen for a number of years. We lost a generation, but we might have snagged the next!11 points

To be honest, i have not heard this but Interesting audio coming out of the West from Gossage and the guys on 1116 this morning, stating that the needle might have shifted slightly and a 2 year deal at Dees now is not out of the question. Take it for what you want..11 points

Lachie Neale has the turning circle of an ant and the 2nd best handball game in the AFL. Jeez he’s a player.10 points

I wonder if they are considering Joel as the med sub as he's able to play back or forward and could, at a pinch and with his pace and agility, slot in on a wing.10 points

JVR, J. Smith, Salem, Dunstan, Bedford in the squad. Williams was again the most vocal out there, making sure they were taking the session seriously. The warm up, then grouped into the four corners, short kicks to coach with some run and handball receive. Another drill finishing with hitting the yellow target. They split into their line squads and did their stuff. Mids practising clearances, forwards working the marking bag and backs shuffling the ball around. In the 3/4 paced, no cotact sims against the coaches (they started with possession, Yze, bog), we had plenty of structure, voice, spread and then finding a corridor off the backline, and finishing with a goal. Finished the session with some goal kicking. No Hibbs. Rehab had Woewodin and Moniz-wakefield, Moniz-wakefield later joined the seconds in their run. I couldn't see a coffee truck, there were, activities for the kids and merchandise they were giving away, small flags, plastic cups and key rings with pictures of players on them. Just saw the text from WCW, apparently sausages. Great crowd, I thought the players were a bit overwhelmed, would have preferred to have a few more spectators at their previous sessions so as to make it feel normal. Could work the other as well, and get them fired up, though I prefer the stability and controlling the environment, plus, gives us a bit more of a connection.9 points

LJ may want to go home, but he also doesn’t want to “leave” The MFC. he loves the place. i don’t think he has signed anything yet, but that is a gut feel only. I disagree with what GNF said vehemently. The Family have no problem with the MFC. At this stage i just hope LJ has a phenomenal Finals Series…..9 points

Patrons were told that contact with the players would be limited to non-existent and that players wouldn't be signing, taking selfies or having a chat. Some players at the end were skirting the boundary giving high fives. I was concerned that this would expose players to COVID but now I'm afraid I may have been exposed to Gastro. Fingers crossed.8 points

A little update on some recent posts: “Nervous as s**t, I hope we don’t go to water, I don’t think we will” “A win will be extraordinary for this group bigger than beating Port in 2003. “super confident could be us by 10 goals” “IMO this will be the closest game of the four as we are the only two teams who can win the flag I reckon.” “The longer the week gets the more confident I get.” re - “I’m the complete opposite. I'm settled down for 30point loss.” “Hope the boys go into this with no fear. We've worked for the double chance and I'll back us in to do it the hard way if we lose. Pressure is on Melbourne here. Just have to go in with manic pressure and hope they break at some point.” “David King tips us...... We are screwed” “The more I think about it, the more I reckon we'll win this by 40+. Gawn, Oliver, Petracca are no where near their form last year and can't drag their side over the line this year.” - lol what? "Some big statements being made here around the outcome of this game. 40 and 50 point margins in a QF against the reigning premier on their home ground who once again finished top 2. Ridiculous." “More I think about it, the more I think no matter what happens we are likely to concede in the midfield. Luckily, we are very good at absorbing inside 50's and generate majority of our scores off turnover/ from defence. If we can break 40/60 in the midfield it will go a long way to winning the game.” "I tipped us but by less than 2 goals. Anyone thinking a 30+ win might be very surprised by how good the Demons are. They could belt us tbh." “More I think about it, the more I think no matter what happens we are likely to concede in the midfield. Luckily, we are very good at absorbing inside 50's and generate majority of our scores off turnover/ from defence. If we can break 40/60 in the midfield it will go a long way to winning the game.”8 points

Back to actual training talk. Viney was tutoring Sparrow at the end of training on the art of dodging your opponent at stoppage by starting behind your opponent and then grabbing them and shoving them behind you as you go forward. He was then tutoring him on grabbing the ball with your arms up so you can still handball it off in a tackle.7 points

I re-watched the rd 12 game. They were gifted 2 goals from frees in the last 3m and won by 11pts. They played out of their skins, We were terrible. Langdon was 1st game back with a busted rib, Salem 1st game back, no Steven May, Petty went off in 1st qtr with a leg problem - on and off all game, Fritsch was playing his 'selfish' football and cost us goals. We bombed the ball into our fwd line and McCartin x 2 creamed us. Logan McDonald had a day out and Papley was one on one with Hunt a number of times in the last line. It won't happen like that again. We are favourites for a reason.7 points
