  1. Well the home and away season has come and gone, very quickly, I might add. Just want to give those who keep this site up and running for very little return a big genuine thank you for all their work. I've had a few health issues this year and often this site has been more than a place of info, venting and knowledge. More often than not it has been a great source of amusement and laughter with not a few some posters having great senses of humor( is that grammatically correct Demonstone?) There have been many times this site has been a huge valve release during a game, keeping me to drinking healthy levels of alcohol intake and less comfort eating. On a more serious note or a lesser one, many posters have given me much free amusement ( aside from my paltry donation to the site) and even more made me laugh out loud even if I didn't feel like it. It also seems we have been less cranky with one another this season with less sniping and more positivity. Maybe a flag after 57 years will do that. So thank you again to those keeping the site going and to those who have shared their unique humor, wit and time over the six months. May we blessed with at least another one of the same fun up until the siren sounds our 14th flag. I wish I had cut and pasted a highlights reel for some of the top posts and we could have handed out some awards, for there have been some posts up there with ... Jesaulenko You Beauty 😃 maybe next year. Cheers fellow Dlandees. Litd.

  2. Coffee is on. Rehab has , Moniz-wakefield and Salem. Light duties, Oliver and JJ. TMac is training with main squad. First drill, moving the ball from the backs in defensive 50 into the forwards to kick a goal. Full field was used, opponents with bibs but no tackles. Now into line squads. JJ is now training with the mids. Semi competitive drills, in two squads. Mids clear the ball from stoppage and the backs defend it. Forwards play with the ball on the arc then pass it to a forwad Into sims now. Dogga and JJ both sitting out. Just got my tickets, woh hoo.

  5. Once again Ticketek has proven to be useless. 1. They allocate tickets by bay. So the best seats in one bay are not available until the worst in the bay next door are sold. 2. How many times do they have to stuff up to learn you cannot sell all the finals games on the one day at the same time? Small wonder people cannot get on. The first game is 8 days away. 3. They have insufficient staff, so don't try to call them to fix up their mistakes. 4. Any barcodes get a ticket, even if for opposing sides....wait until the Collingwood crowd find out and buy out all the tickets for their next game. 4. The problem is the MCC, not the MFC control who sells tickets. They have contracted Ticketek. Marvel stadium owned by the AFL uses Ticketmaster, and buying tickets through them is a breeze.

  6. I've followed most of this thread. There's been some happy posts and some bloody sad posts. Overall though there has been far too much confusion and far too many problems. We are club members who pay up. We represent reliable money in the bank for the club and the AFL. We deserve better treatment. Consider the facts. We have 60000 plus members, so lets allocate them 10 tickets each! Even my basic grasp of mathematics suggest that something is amiss with that equation! We have 2 major games coming up in 2 weeks ( two weeks away). Well logically let's put the tickets for both on sale at the same time. FMD! Oh and for good measure, let's sell those tickets through an online system that seems designed to be as obtuse as possible. There are computer systems that can land and operate a dinky toy on Mars FFS! Surely the AFL could do just a little bit better?

  7. Let's just strip back some of the BS for a moment: It's a members pre sale (club and MCC), some of us have paid some pretty big bucks for these memberships and fronted up week in week out, there is not even expected to be a capacity crowd and we still get the luck of the draw internet treatment? Very happy we were able to just get any seats after being robbed of finals last year but seriously that is just crap. Was relying on my mate for this one but need the double pronged approach next time, don't trust these crum bums one bit.

  8. I believe my maths are correct and the great man Mr Piggy notches up game 100 for the MFC in the first final. I've been a massive fan of the hard nut since his first game for the dees as a rebounding half back flanker. I'm more of a fan now playing the more challenging and probably less sexy lock down small defender role. Still a best 22 player with ease and if he has a good run with the chassis, should get to 200 AFL games next year (needs 17 more). Now he's ticked the box for father son/daughters, time to get him out to stud.

  10. Freo don't have a top 5 pick. While they could trade up for a higher pick, we will lose value to achieve this. Gold Coast fought tooth and nail to get a top 10 pick from Hawthorn for O'Meara and St Kilda did a great trade for them in order to broker the deal. Conversely, the Cats took a number of lower picks from WCE for Kelly, which, in aggregate, added up to more than pick 1 in value and was a better deal. I would prefer we take a collection of lower picks and let our brains trust work out how to push up or down the draft board. Brokerage is expensive in the AFL system.

  11. Sorry but that would not be a good deal for us IMO. Compare mine as a minimum. Treacy, Meek and a top 5 pick that guarantees us Cadman or Jefferson. If we also get Grundy, we have then hopefully solved our key forward and ruck issues for the next several years. You add Treacy and Cadman/Jefferson, to JVR and still have BBB and Tom for another year or two. You extend Max’s career using Grundy more of the time and gave him fresh for finals and have Meek as the backup. If we do get Grundy, we may prefer another player or pick instead of Meek. Could then use that pick in the draft or on a trade or to improve next years pick in a suggested better draft. We could then rookie another ruckman as the backup.

  12. Before we get bogged down in all the finals hoo hah, I really just want to take one darn second to acknowledge what an excellent home and away season this was from our club. Some clubs fall off a cliff in their title defence, some might skim by and make the 8 but our boys backed up and saw off the challenges to finish in an optimal position for another shot at success. Onto the bigger business but for now thanks MFC, that was a real joy to be part of ❤️.

  13. I just don't understand why tickets don't get released in order of membership premiums. FFS I pay $700 a year and have a reserved seat. Why am I fighting with plebs with ****ty interstate and armchair memberships (no offense to any of you who have these memberships!) for a good seat? As far as I understand, for the grand final, tickets get released in priority batches. If you have a GF guarantee with your membership, you are priority 1. Why then, are all finals not the same? And WTF is with being able to get 10 tickets per barcode? That should only be allowed when general admission is released.

  17. I don't think that's how it works. As soon as he is in red and blue he'll barely get another free for his career.

  19. As a few Demonlanders know i work in high performance outside of my career on here, and the reputation Selwyn Griffith has is amazing, he's especially highly regarded in injury prevention and management which is a huge part of why Burgo was so keen on him. I think we've had a few more hurdles this year than last year in terms of managing injuries and so on, but the fact we can hit QF week with a fully healthy and fit list and in good form is a credit to the entire program. I know the media are obsessed with the cats, but i 100% guarantee we have their measure and will beat them if we play them. The only thing that can stop us going back to back is ourselves, we're perfectly placed.

  20. Why do a very small number of posters say Nibbler should be dropped. it will never happen. Every Dees player has a specific role. I’ve no doubt the FD are happy that ANB is playing his role every week.

  24. But they have a lot we would want. Young, Serong, Chapman, Henry, Amiss to name a few plus their first rounder. I know they don't want to deal those players but that could get the deal done so suggesting they "just can't" isn't right. WCE sit in the wings. PSD is an option for us. They've rated Jackson very highly based on their reported offer to him. I'd play hard ball. WCE have pick 2. Freo, it's in your hands.

  29. Agree. It is not the members fault at all. Good luck to your mate as that is what the rules allow. The club/AFL could have a smaller non-member allowance like the 2018 Geelong game. I would feel ok if it was just one or two extras but 10 is ridiculous. Let the non-members wait till the 'General Allocation' opens in a few hours. We should email the club and let them know our discontent. The folks in membership work hard and don't set the rules so I will play nice in the wording. But I'm Not Happy, Jan!!

  30. My mate, also a premium member, used his barcode to buy 6 good tickets - 4 non members. No fault on him of course. I put this on the club.. Paying members must get better treatment.

  31. What a difference a bit of success makes, we can even wish someone who turns their back on us "all the best". Each to his own. However IF HE LEAVES FOR FREO I'll not wish him all the best and I'll forever think of him as being disloyal to a club that did everything for him. We used pick 3 on what many was thought to be a speculative pick. It was a gamble and a huge investment. He came to a great well run club with a culture second to none. He trained with the best - Maxy. We coached him to a rising star. We put a premiership medal round his neck. We've treated him exceptionally well and with dignity. Our reward? See ya later boys and by the way, I want to go to Freo where your chances of getting reasonable compensation is much less than if I went to WCE where pick 2 would be part of the deal. But I'm sorry, I'm homesick. Sorry, that doesn't wash with me and whilst others might accept it "because he's a nice kid" I won't. Compare that with Scully, the boy who was and stilll is vilified by this site. He came to a totally dysfunctional club. We had a split in the FD the size of the Grand Canyon. We had no culture, we had no professionalism and the players had no ambition. We treated him appallingly. We had every man and his dog at the club constantly asking him what he was doing and we put him in front of the media on multiple occasions to face questions about his future. We even asked him to stay for our sick President. He got a grandfather offer from a new club, an offer no other club would match and he wanted out after what he saw and what we did to him. And he had specific illnesses in the family that he wanted to provide for. Any manager would have told him to go. He did and we paid out on a kid we'd done nothing for when he made a sound professional decision. And guess what, he was right to take it because he wasn't all that good as a footballer and the money he got was a once in a lifetime opportunity. But we vilified him anyway because he was someone we were falsely told could carry us to success and he disappointed us. So for me Jackson is disloyal because he leaves a great club for little reason. Scully left a dysfunctional club for good reason. And to finish. If Freo offer peanuts I'd have no hesitation of saying no, Jacko can go into the PSD. He'll end up at WCE and if that's our position Jacko why don't we deal with WCE because if we don't you may end up at NM. Jackson's trade is the same as Dangerfield, Kelly, Judd and Cameron. He's being offered as much by Freo meaning they value him at that level. You can't have it both ways. Give us something really meaningful or you just don't get him. Over to you.

  36. Well done Hibbo/Pig! That is definitely wonderful to hear that Michael Hibberd will be up to 100 games for the Melbourne Football Club. Hibbo is definitely one of my favourite players. Hope he gets to drink from a brand new Premiership Cup for the Melbourne Demons too! ON YA PIG! 🐷

  37. So I had a little experiment after I got my seats today. I purchased our tickets by using my Redleg barcode number and the below options came up. I then went back and used the 3 game membership barcode I had purchased for my Daughter during the home and away. I can confirm that the Premium option does not appear. I don't believe this was true back in 2018. So an improvement that recognizes those members. I can also confirm that Premium option offers different seating but you can still purchase standard seats if you prefer. I would surmise that the barcodes will be linked to the GF guarantee when we get to that stage.

  39. He hasn't nominated a club yet has he? Hawthorn are the front runners allegedly but we are said to be in the conversation as well. As we're still playing finals, the longer he takes to nominate could be an indication that he's leaning towards the dees.

  40. If people want 10 tickets for one membership they should have to wait until the 'General Public' allocation opens. In the morning it should be members only!! I only wanted a ticket for 2 Redlegs members which eventually I did get but no where near where I would have liked. Very annoying if they have gone to non-members. God help us if we meet Coll or Rich in a final. If that happens I'll get up with the birds and walk to the local Newsagent who is also a Ticketek outlet.

  43. So frustrating! Club's 'Finals Hub' says to get out and support players at training. So I emailed them and asked when and where training would be held. This was the response: Thank you for your email. Further information will be posted on the finals hub once available. We cannot provide any details at this stage. We look forward to seeing you cheer on the red and blue!' The Finals Hub page says: Information on Open Training sessions will be available in the coming days. Why encourage us to go to training then not tell us where it is. @kev martinThanks for going and I look forward to your reports.
