Boy oh boy! Wowee! I almost spat out my cornflakes when I came across this news item in The Daily Bugle this morning. It's absolutely incredible! I can scarcely believe it... I hope it's OK by the mods if I reproduce the article in full. In what is believed to be a first in world sport, Melbourne Football Club is on the verge of sacking its entire coaching staff and replacing them with a group of fans from their website Demonland. This innovative and radical move would save Melbourne millions of dollars and shore up their financial position in perpetuity. An anonymous source from within the club says that they have long valued and admired the collective judgement and football wisdom of Demonland posters and that it would make sense to make use of their talents, particularly when it would cost nothing at all. CEO Gary Pert has refused to comment publicly, but insiders claim that he sees this move as a game changer that would put Melbourne ahead of the curve. When contacted for comment, under siege coach Simon Goodwin stared into the middle distance while absentmindedly scratching his left leg before saying in a flat voice "The reality bus is full of learnings and I've recognised for some time that Demonland posters know much more about this coaching caper than I ever will. I could see their involvement bringing about instant and ongoing success for the team." Our source can also reveal that List Manager Tim Lamb has conceded that his position was redundant given the collective expertise on tap and was looking forward to Melbourne cutting out all the deadwood on the list and winning every trade period in future. Recruiting guru Jason Taylor is said to be equally enthused and was overheard saying that he was looking forward to the parade of champions that would be drafted from here on and that the Demons would never pick another spud with the experts in charge. President Glen Bartlett has privately conceded that the entire football department is on notice, with the possible exception of the boot studder, the doorman and the bloke who cuts up the oranges at three quarter time. The Selection Committee is also expected to be given their marching orders and be replaced by a poster who has not been identified but is believed to live in the vicinity of Werribee and who has agreed to take on the task of weekly team selection on the proviso that the side is printed IN UPPER CASE. While this amazing news has been greeted with widespread enthusiasm from the Demonland faithful, a cautionary note has been sounded by one long-time fan who wished to remain anonymous but agreed that he was an Old Dee and said that he was pessimistic that these changes would help and predicted that Melbourne would never be any good. Melbourne Football Club remain tight-lipped about this visionary proposal with a formal announcement expected to be made at a supporters function to be held on 1st April at the Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen's Club in King Street.37 points

Honestly we arrested some serious momentum and changed the game. I can’t remember when we last did that and went on to win. We have some talent on the list. If we manage it well we are going places.16 points

From facebook (his name is Trevor): After getting out ti about a 28 point lead, NM came back and Casey in front by 11 at 3/4 time. 9.8.62 to 8.3.51. No Petty after half time. Melks, Daw and Rosman amongst the goal kickers that qtr. Hibbert solid in defence. Melksham continued to get plenty if the ball as well as Vanders. Pretty slippery so lots of skill errors. Final score 12.9.81 to 11.7.73. Goals to Rosman , Daw and Bedford that qtr. I think Risman kicked 3 fir the game and impressed12 points

As Clint said, Jackson into the ruck was when the momentum switched. He follows up like a midfielder.8 points

Well Demons fans we have been praying for years for our players to shift momentum in a quarter. That was great to watch.8 points

Exceptional performance tonight. I was more impressed in the first half as i knew they would tire later in the game from last week. This was where the heat was on and their fresh much heralded mosquito fleet would take hold. But I thought we beat them in the first quarter as they got two goals from dubious umpiring decisions. We should have been further in front. But the second quarter impressed me the most because of the degree of difficulty involved. We looked out on our legs, kicking to an unmanned forward line twice as the saints got a real sniff and went for the kill. This is where we almost always fall down and as supporters we too often bemoan our lack of leadership. But we quickly corrected this time, didn't commit too many to 'saving' the game and when we went forward we had experienced players in TMac, ANB and Jones in good position. This created 3 goals which got us back the lead. I don't think we can underestimate how much effect that has on the opposition, to lose all their momentum by half time. Where I can see improvement: Thomlinson. He was terrible one on one at GWS and is becoming very reliable down back both in marking contests and as a free man. A reliable kick and good decision maker. He has developed under goodwin. Pickett - First half was exceptional hitting the scoreboard and defensive pressure was elite. he's exactly what we need. Tmac - Not sure hes quite back but hes defintely improved and so vital for us as a team. With Jackson off his game he was critical to us holding our structure. Jordan and Sparrow - Ill have to watch again but they are doing sacrificial roles and probably a big reason we won the contest for all but half a quarter tonight. special note to Salem, he's been good in previous years but thats the best game I've seen him play, almost perfectly clean and thought he was BOG. Negative - yes we have negatives but these threads are 90% negative even after a win, so Im sure that will be discussed in depth.7 points

Tomlinson did very well in the shadow of May and Lever. Wherever Kozzie is, the ball will follow him. He's a pure soul, he just enjoys his footy, "having fun." Love him.?7 points

Kozzie is brilliant, well done to Trac on his first career 30 disposal game and great to see Salem get 30 touches7 points

Smith or Philips would have been good but we missed out on them. We went very hard for Smith and he nearly chose us. Apparently we had a crack at Philips too but he wanted too much $. The reality is that they chose other clubs so I don’t understand why people use this to have a crack at the club. This situation happens to all clubs. Gus warmed into the game last week and he did some very good things, especially delivering to the forwards. If he can gut run defensively imo he is well suited to the role7 points

Best game I've seen in a long time from the Dees. To be challenged in the second quarter... and the response was very pleasing. best game I've seen from ANB as well Keep it up Dees6 points

Absolutely stoked with that performance. We shut down everything the Saints wanted. Massive tick for Goodwin.6 points

We played bloody well... except we couldn’t nail goals. If we did, it would have been a thrashing. Nice to see our midfield back dominating. Backline is still a thing of beauty. Tomlinson was just wonderful. If we can keep scraping out wins until we get Brown on the field... look out!6 points

My clearest memory of watching Big Carl was when I was sitting in the old Southern Grandstand of the MCG on the wooden bench seats, and two old(er) ladies (opposition supporters) yelled out " you German Ditterich! You German!" after he had whacked a player on the ear or somewhere. It was so funny, as though that was the worst insult they could think of. I'm sorry, but I think I burst out laughing. (Don't mention the war!) ?6 points

Calm down. He often gets the ball in some tough spots to kick from. Having another leading forward will really help him in terms of where he gets the ball. He has to go wide often as he can’t compete with the big guys in the air.5 points

A mate got out there and I got the following at various times through the morning. It is raining cats & dogs out here Cannot sight Baker - he must be 23rd Man for tonight Qtr time: Casey 4.4:28 v North 3.1:19 Half time. Casey lead by 10 points. 42 to 32. 3QT: we hold a 11pt lead going into the last Qtr (62v 51) Seeing plenty from Hibbo, Rosman, Chandler, Bedford, Bradtke, Melks, Vanders & Daw Majak has taken some very strong marks and kicked about 3 goals FT score: 12.9:81 v 11.7:73- well done Casey The feature of the game was some strong marking in terrible conditions early. Majak & Bradtke in particular! My 3,2,1 would go to Hibberd, Vanders & Daw with a special mention to Bedford5 points

Cant get worse than last nights fiasco at Kardinia Park. Geelong player caught 'bang to rights' in the Lions goal square and lazily tossed the ball to another afl pet and rushed through for the winning point. No free for a text book tackle. Geelong is a protected species and all thr playets know it.They have a distinct swagger down there at the cattery. Rohan king hit Neale -Leigh Mathews' style..way off the ball .Should get 6 weeks. Media already playing it down as is that jerk Scott.5 points

Just want to see manic forward pressure all night, don’t let them get out easy and we’ll go a long way towards winning this one.5 points

I think Ratten has them playing in a Richmond-esque team way, we got an unexpected win over them that almost stuffed their season last year but hand on heart I think they’ve gone past us. Doesn’t mean we won’t win but we have to bring our best to get a positive result today. I’m sure they’ve done their homework and worked out that they can’t be indiscriminate with their forward entries, we won last week (and last year) largely off of good work from May and Lever. Likewise I’m also hoping that our clearances will kick back into 2018-like gear. I’d really love to say I feel confident but I don’t.5 points
