  1. Classic Demonland to say he's a crap player because he was no good or "went missing" today. The entire GWS side went missing. No point judging him on today. Tomlinson is a role player. He has little x-factor, but he's versatile, fit, hard working and consistent. For "free" (as in, as a free agent), I'm fine with taking him, but only if his salary reflects the fact that he's a role player (i.e. he shouldn't be on big coin, at all).

  2. reading some of the sad sacks here you would think melbourne just played richmond today it's just pathetic and repetitiously boring. how many ways can you say the same things?

  3. you miss the point....not surprising it's the boring, repetitious, masochistic, humourless, unoriginal drivel i'm sick of either come up with something original or a least with some humour or cease trolling upto you (and your mates)

  4. Absolutely dc. They turn a thread about a GF where we aren't playing into a MFC whingefest

  5. All year we have heard the company men excuse our 2019 on a poor pre season- Enter Pickett in June.

  6. Should Gil give GWS a priority pick after this? ?

  7. You wouldn’t go for any of the GWS players based on this game. I always judge players based on the only game I’ve watched them play.

  8. Random side point. Adam Treloar chose Collingwood over Richmond as they were “closer” to a flag hahaha.

  9. What? He's going to handball longer than the others kick?

  10. You have to laugh... I really hope this sort of stuff burns in the guts of the players and next year we come out breathing fire.

  11. It's also a lesson in how life can be so unfair at time. Delidio was sitting in the stands looking on.

  12. That was a year that felt as long as 2013. One good win against the swans at the scg when I thought... ok, now we can start. We didn’t. One good qtr against the bombers when I thought...ok now they’re clicking. We never did. One stupidly close win by a point in the final second... but that didn’t really count as a good feeling because it was against the bottom side who lost 19 games straight. Shocking run with Injuries then more injuries... then a backline formation, game style, that made us look like amateurs. Then injured players re injuring themselves because we played them too soon. Continual and systemically Horrible kicking for goal that regularity cost us games and a miss after the siren as if to just add salt into bitter wounds. 2019 can just [censored] off fast.

  16. The same posters who bag Tomlinson and our decision to bring him in also whinge about us playing ANB, the brothers Wagner and OMac. The club can’t win.

  17. Watch for him to lead until the 50m mark, then lose his bearings, change direction and run up the players race.

  19. To be honest, such is my disdain from our effort throughout the entirety of 2019, i'm really going to enjoy the absence of AFL for these next 6 months.

  24. when they keep drafting spuds and then replace them with spuds, no, they can't win. Tomlinson is garbage. And has been all finals. We need the complete opposite of him.

  29. There's a touch of arrogance with the Tiges bringing in Pickett for his first game. No matter what the party line the 2 boys who were pulled from a GF last week must be feeling it. They not only didn't get to play in the GF, they didn't get to audition for a spot in the big one. Must ruffle some feathers. If GWS have them covered at half time I think they (GWS) will run away with it. Richmond let teams get head starts and they have a belief in their ability to run them over. One day they are not going to come back. I hope it's this one...

  30. Agree that when pick1 & 2 go to GC, Kemp needs to be considered with the likes of Young and Ash for pick 3, unless we trade it for Ben King ? (this is not a draft to be splitting the pick when it's so shallow)

  31. Yes but we had a ruined pre season, the worst injury list in the competition, a hard draw and despite all that were in the game at 3/4 time in numerous games, as well as simply throwing away several games with poor kicking or goal. A better injury run, with a softer draw and some new players, coming off a wasted year, which would bite at everyone, gives me optimism for a quick rebound.

  32. Wayne Carey has predicted us to make the biggest rise next year and jump back into the 8. With a softer draw and far fewer operations, a better club pre season, a few new players and some young developing players as well and importantly a good injury run and maybe a slightly altered game plan, I am also confident of us bouncing back to play finals next year.

  33. Time to get off his back Red, we all know what you think. He’s MFC so let’s support him.

  34. I don't watch enough gws games to have an informed opinion about Tomlinson. I'll back in our recruiting team to make the right call. But some of the comparisons and ratings on this thread are laughable. He has played almost every game for the giants for the last four years. In that time they have played finals every year, made 3 prelims and now a GF. And he has played all of them. Wh aa t does that say about his ability? Or maybe people think he us a coaches favorite or has photos

  35. How good has this first gamer been? Inspired decision to play him. Cool as a cucumber An embarrassment of riches at Tigerland. They could win 1 or 2 more with this group.

  37. Have paid attention to this guy since the interest in him started. Haven’t seen anything that makes me want him. Himmelberg available?

  38. I know the Suns wouldn't want to lose him but surely for them having picks 1,2 and 3 is a very mouth watering prospect? Give us King and she's all yours.
    3 points
  39. He won't seek a trade, but if we can satisfy the Suns with pick 3... Keep Petracca. Has more x factor and power than Gus or Viney. They're the ones you trade, but not for King. For other mids that can compliment Oliver, Harmes and Petracca. So good users by foot and those with a bit of gut-running and pace about them.

  42. Sorry for not getting this posted yet. My best is Morphetville Race 4 no 6 nistaan. Is very short (1,75 atm) but in a small field should win. Such a frustrating night last night. Had the winner marked in all but one race but pulled the wrong rein

  43. I do think a home base would help but really I think what we are lacking is a way to embrace and sell what we've got as a club. The Giants are so tight knit as a club because they've taken their disadvantages and turned them in to positives. Small club = community feel between the fans and the club. Fledgling start up = huge bond between players, coaches, staff etc. All the things we see as a disadvantage: Shared training base - great access to storm/victory etc Open training oval - easy connection for players to loyal fans Small membership - great heartland supporters Seen as toff's - embrace the city and top end of town image in a positive way I really think under PJ we started to get things right about how the club saw itself. Hard working, community focused, cared for each other, positive with a plan. Get back to those things and we can overcome things like training ovals and home bases.

  44. He is a brilliant player whose flaws sometime outweigh his brilliance. Improve his tank and ball use and he slides straight into the A grade category. His turnovers kill me but I love watching him. One thing is for sure - he is one of a maybe 5 players who stood up in 2019. He is part of our solution, not part of the problem and I celebrate him for that.
