  1. If we cant beat this weak, under strength filth team missing at least 8 of their best 22 with a full strength team minus Viney, , we don't deserve to play finals.

  2. I'm super excited but my Collingwood supporter husband has a bad case of the man flu and will not be accompanying me tomorrow. I pondered whether I should stay home and play Florence Nightingale for a brief moment but then quickly changed my mind. I'll be there tomorrow and I will dose my husband up on drugs before I go and bring him home some jam donuts and the footy record. Go Dees ❤️?

  3. I married a Carlton supporter who spent a lot of time at Richmond with her tiger crazed uncles. Told her that she would have to convert to Dee's if she wanted to spend rest of her life with me. She has now spent more of her life as a Dee than a Blue and is one of our most ardent supporters at the game. Told me last week that it doesn't matter where we are playing if we reach the finals, we'll be going there.

  4. ones that have been around for a while: ADELAIDE - Lever being courted by Melbourne and Collingwood, and has already said no to Footscray - McGovern is being heavily courted by both WA clubs, but is likely to stay at Crows - Cameron wants to go to either Queensland side, preference is Bears BRISBANE - Rockliff weighing up opportunities elsewhere – was previously likely to go to the Crows as a free agent, but is now more likely to stay at Brisbane CARLTON - Gibbs still being talked off as a Crows target COLLINGWOOD - Some talk that Sidebottom may be looking elsewhere GEELONG - Motlop will leave, have heard Port Adelaide the most keen GC17 - Lynch is a strong possibility to request a trade, Carlton are heavily into him GW$ - Kelly has multiple suitors – Aints, Peptides, Caaaaaaaaaaaaarlton – but is likely to stay - Same for Hopper - Smith wants to go to the Cats MELBOURNE - Hogan will always be talked about every year, but will stay - Frost may look for opportunity elsewhere, particularly if Lever comes in NORTH MELBOURNE - Have eight players waiting on Neck Tatts - Goldstein’s $800k pay packet in 2018 is a major disincentive for the likes of Footscray to recruit him PORT ADELAIDE - Pittard will stay - Trengove will go – Blues the most keen RICHMOND - All roads lead through Dusty decision ST. KILDA - Several players already told they’re on the chopping block, Jimmy Webster apparently ropeable about it SYDNEY - Rohan again mentioned in dispatches earlier in the year, but will stay WEST COAST - Have kept Shuey but Gaff is a possibility to be traded a year before he becomes a free agent WESTERN BULLDOGS - Stringer and Libba are on the possibility list, if the right deal comes along

  5. That is when he plays he worst footy. He has to be on the move. His aerobic capacity is his biggest asset.

  7. What a great idea dressing the umps in blue to blend in with Footscray's jumper - lets face it it's the same team after all

  8. Did Dunn make a statement that warrents this statement/insult. As far as I'm concerned I hold little or no resentment towards Dunn because he essentialy left for the opportunity to play footy at the senior AFL level that he wasn't getting and wasn't likely to get with us in the future. He was a loyal and dedicated servant of the MFC for many years before moving. Jeremy Howe on the other hand is the one who left for either or both more money, perceived better success and the opportunity to play as a perminant forward (Haha to that too). Ultimately we received next to no value for Jeremy leaving compared to the value he has provided the scum. The better he plays for them, the more I beguin to despise him. Melbourne supporters should BOOOOOOOO this Jezza bloke on Saturday afternoon. He's not quite a Scully, but he went to that filthy Collingwood scum and that makes him nearly as bad.

  9. If I am honest with myself I am absolutely [censored] myself about our game this week. If we get over the line I will be like a fat kid in a lolly shop.

  10. Collingwood playing their best available team when they have nothig to play for, which is rare in Round 23. But wait, I just remembered - games against Melbourne are their Grand Final. They haven't beaten us since 2014. A peasant club.

  11. Dees aren't going to give up overs for this kid. Tom Mitchell was traded for pick 14, omeara pick 10 and 2018 second round, hibberd pick 29, Lachie Henderson future first round pick, Prestia pick 6. lever isn't better than any of the above. melbournes first round pick this year should do the deal and at worst 2nd round next year. im glad some of the posters here are not deciding the future of the club.

  12. Rumour - We trade Petracca to Hawthorn for Fitzpatrick (Not really concussed) We swap Fitzpatrick to StKilda for Nick Reiwoldt (Not really retiring) Reiwoldt to Adelaide for Mc Govern, Lever, Walker and their 1st pick. Walker to Hawthorn for Petracca

  13. What even is this topic? Who started this rumour? Frosty isn't going anywhere, I can guarantee it. He is just, like a lot of players, waiting till the end of the season to negotiate a contract. Ya'll are crazy.

  14. Recently started posting, 50 years of following Dees, some dark times, Geelong 186, GF's in 88 & 2000 fortunately went into the bar at half time for both, all of the early 80's! Thank God for Robbie on the wing and when big Carl knocked out 5 of the Filth (apologies for reminiscing as totally inappropriate in this day & age re concussion!). Occasional joy 87 finals with exception of Jimmy's transgression. Demonland makes me laugh out loud occasionally, so good for the soul, Ethan T is one particularly sick puppy, but in a good way. Can see a Japanese link in Demonland whenever we lose. Mutual hatred of umpires in particular razor ray and personally there is a blond haired twerp who is a shocker. Plus special mention for the three blind mice who umpired the North vs Melb game at the G earlier this year. Anyway as you can see 50 years of The Dees does leave some mental Demons! But not tomorrow, we march into the finals, and hope for four great lucky weeks. Making & winning one final would be great!

  15. I know but then I keep reminding myself I am lucky- he could have been an Essendon supporter. That would be worse in my eyes.

  16. I'm super emotional about tomorrow. Nervous. Excited. I think they call that anxious? Thinking of the siren ringing and knowing we're going to September..it makes me emotional, almost to the point of tears. I think we'll get it done. And comfortably.

  17. you beat Collingwood and Adelaides actions are irrelevant. The 2 outs certainly help WCE chances, but they are still no certainties in that game. Melbourne and Essendon do what they should do, and WCE vs Adelaide is a dead rubber.

  18. Watching him play for filth reserves against Casey earlier this year this Kirby guy lost the plot and was giving away silly free kicks. I believe it was Munro that stuck to him like a glove all day and pestered him throughout. I'm with you on us doing something stupid but one of our boys should get into him early and mess with his head cause the last thing we need is a first gamer to rip us apart.

  19. Ben Reid has withdrawn from tomorrow's match... Our forwards will dominate tomorrow EDIT: He is actually named forward which surprises me, but it makes their forward line look extremely bare other than Jamie Elliott

  21. One year is too small a sample size to do anything with but speculate. Every team had the bye, Doggies played the best footy that month.

  22. Perhaps, but Howe also knows where to go to get the ball and gets pleanty of it. I'd almost be tempted to play Watts on Howe in a defensive forward role and let Howe lead Jack to the ball. I think they'd be well matched athleticly (except for aerially) and if Watts were to play it well, it could really come off for us by taking their best defensive play maker out of the game and getting our best attacking play maker into the game. Hogan and Pedo could provide the main targets up forward and could be less impeded by Howe if Watts can do a good job on him. Barring Watts, I think either Melksham or Harmes are the match-ups we should be targeting for Howe. Hassel the F#@$ out of Howe and make the slimy turd doublely regret leaving us for that filth.

  23. oh FFS sake....chill out...MFCSS at its finest. He has been upfront about it from the get go...he was weight bearing on a different part of his foot to compensate for his previous foot injury and has stress issues. its not navicular...chill

  24. The Dees need only 18000 fans in tomorrow to break through the 800,000 fans attending Melbourne games for the year That is a great resuot and should show the AFL , Ch 7 and the rest of the footy world that Melbourne has a large latent fan base waiting to explode. Should hopefully see us get some good fixturing for 2018 and shut up the naysayers about melbourne fans not attending games. Go Dees Dees to smash attendance record

  26. Gaff is an interesting one as he has a year to go on his contract. He is a Melbourne boy, would love to return home, the family are Demon supporters and he would love to play for MFC. I thought it would happen in 2018 but maybe happening earlier. Source, family friend.

  28. Kelly fills a greater need and is an a grade midfielder we have lacked for decades. He would however cost us too much if the $1.5 million being touted in the media is correct. If we paid him that, we would likely lose Petracca or Oliver or Hogan or one of our other young stars in the future as Kelly would be sucking up too much cap space. Lever is going to be half the cost and also fills a need. He will sure up our backline and become the general down there for the next decade. He will be a multiple time All Australian backman. He'll be great for us. We need a classy outside midfielder to compliment the plethora of inside mids we have, but we can't afford Kelly unfortunately. We should chase another one either this year or next depending on who is available and what currency we have to give.

  29. From :- The Age Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has suggested the only reason to sack a coach is if he has completely lost the faith of his players. Hey Eddie, what if he can't coach?

  30. On the Marngarook footy show last night Jetta and Harmes were asked about how the dees were handling the pressure of getting to finals and if they get there playing in them. Jetta said the leaders were encouraging players to 'embrace the pressure'. That phrase has Jordan Lewis writ large over it. Lewis has gone up a gear over recent weeks but now his best work may well be off field getting our excitable lucifers into the right mind space!

  34. Watts on the half back flank and wing. Put Vince around half forward or use him as a tagger. I don't like Vince being used to kick the ball back in.

  35. Hence it is utter bulltish for the club to say that it is unrelated to the original foot injury. I know we desperately needed to beat Port Adelaide, but it was inevitable that there would be this sort of consequence from rushing Viney back too early. Now we've most likely lost him for the season. Just plain dumb from all concerned.

  42. We have one player in defence beside Hunt, who will probably move to a wing anyway, who has pace and that is Frost. I hope we keep him.
