The 2025 AFL Draft Thread

Omg what is happening! We've just doubled our Picketts!

That surprises and excites me. It sounds like Kozzie was going heavy on speaking him up and it has worked. Some serious talent, mature body, and our outstanding Indigenous program under Matty Whelan will be in full swing.

Not sure about taking Pickett where we did, but obviously we wanted him and knew he wouldn’t be available in a few picks time.

if it keeps Kozzie in the R&B for the rest of his career, then it’s shrewd drafting

Stop it PF!!! He’s our boy now. Let’s get behind him.

So he was playing ressies... Not even firsts at Glenelg... This is a punt

Well, this ought to keep Demonland chatting for a few days.

Good for our sponsors. Plenty of engaging content.

We had to replenish our Pickett stock after trading one out to GWS in the Clarry Package.

Loved every bit of that few minutes after Pickett’s name got called. Kid was trembling and did well to get the words out.

These are great stories, good luck to both draftees.

Not sure - Latrelle Picket in. Picket Fence out.

I remember when we draft kozzie people said it's too high for a small forward. he only averages 9 touches a game etc... look at him now.

Happy to trust Taylor and co (but I am very surprised)

Yes, getting quite a lot of CloudFlare commection timed out pages coming up. Not sure if that's due to traffic given interest in the draft, or residual from a global issue CloudFlare's systems had last night.

With all respect, this was not the best choice. Hope he proves me wrong, but we had other needs.

A tad premature to making that judgement, wouldn't you say? In JT we trust.

Now I'm just casually monitoring in case we trade up to get Lindsay or Thredgold.

A wasted mongrel left foot punt... J.T and BRAINS TRUST Needed to nail this AND they havent

Disgrace!

X Taylor is a player, will need to find his role and place in the club but Kingy should sort him out.

Latrelle is a gamble, but Kozzie didn’t do a whole lot in his draft year. No club is better placed to get the most out of him and he’s got some genuine moves - and we sure have genuine needs.

We have lost 400 games of midfield exp inc 2 premiership players yet we don’t pick any mids with 7&8 … nothing against the boys they picked but have I missed something here?i

Hmm, is it just me or are Harry Dean and X Taylor the only key position prospects taken so far (speaking at pick 17)

Xtra is only 192cm, so even he isn't necessarly a KPD.

Probey and Derpsma are both notably tall but not really key position types.
