Now that's a game I'll watch happily again. What an effort from the boys. Was worried about our mental capacity to see the game out given our recent history but we've pushed through and won that last quarter convincingly. 4 goals 8 vs 1 goal 1.

The fact Brisbane kept kicking it to him was hilarious. I reckon that’s the ONE thing you’d be coached NOT to do.

Reckon one of the Brisbane players gave the "You idjit" look to the guy who last kicked it to him.
Was hilarious.

Has any player won more games with his late quarter efforts than Max Gawn?

Greatest ruckman of all time. Fight me.

Serious x factor. , I think we should

I think he took Fort by surprise several times with his aggression and strength in the ruck. Loved his goal as well!

He'll never be an out and out star but I can see him being a handy player for us.

Fritsch needs to bring that effort consistently. That's the standard now. Great cameo as sub.

Melksham was unreal.

Gawn's late clunks were huge.

Yes Max was a Rock of Gibraltar

Well, didn't see that coming ......

What a great win. What a great leader Max Gawn is. Lindsay and Langford showed great compose for been very young and inexperienced. A great coaching performance by Goody. A great move making Fritsch the sub, as he played a great game when he came on.

Listening to the radio they are saying how good AJ was in the final term.

Do we give him a few weeks at it.

Sounds like he offered more than Jefferson

Lever back means Disco up forward I reckon which prob means AJ is out.

You know what ..enjoy this well deserved win without denigrating other players

I honestly don't think it's a debate.
They throw up Dean Cox .... Please 🙄
No ruckman takes over a game like Gawn when in the mood.

And if the Brownlow was fair he should have a couple by now.

I checked the stats at three quarter time and thought Max was down on marks.

It's usually a fair barometer for us.

Great last quarter from him. Won the game for us.

Absolutely fantastic win, an outstanding whole team effort. Clean up some of those costly skill errors and it really would have looked like a more dominant win.

Fritsch was great when coming on, that's the required level.

Lindsay was outstanding in 2nd half and our midfield just bullied theirs.

Max, what else can you say 👏👏👏

I continue to be impressed with Bowey's rapid rise this season.

Many could argue that he gets a lot of easy ball with his role but there were several occasions where he put his body on the line.

Went at 86% DE as well.

That was wonderful. Just great. That guaranteed GF ticket might just get a call up this year after all!

Exactly. He's a guy who has been given an opportunity at the top level & he seems to not want to waste it

Bowza has been immense all year. Consistent and confident.

Watching the game with Uncle Bitters and Range Rover

We are all a little stunned, 4 Quarter effort, that still looked short until 10 minutes into the last Q

Tom Sparrow was huge in the packs Fritta took some angry pills and went for it

Saw the game without sound, so i need to catch the Replay

There is a slight pulse still beating…

Jake’s one of those players, and not because of his size, who makes me scared for his safety when there’s a contest looming. Inspirationally courageous, and absolutely AA. He’s simply become elite.

We probably should've won that by 4-5 goals with how dominant we played in that finally quarter. We kicked 4.8 for the quarter.

4g 8b in the last. Holy cow they know how to torture us supporters

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
