  • Demonland changed the title to Caleb Windsor Could Miss the Rest of 2024

lovely bit of fearmongering here from fox footy

low grade syndesmosis which doesn't require surgical intervention and could see him return to the side sooner rather than later according to the mfc injury update

So unlucky. Happened when he slipped on the MCC wing in the last 20 seconds of the game and got crunched by a Peatling tackle

If Caleb is out I assume Hunter gets another chance

Not sure that would have happened if Windsor and Langdon remained available

Has a lot to prove imho

Hunter only played limited minutes last week, so I doubt they bring him in

Might be a blessing in disguise, as it will give him a few extra weeks off after a very demanding season where he probably played more games than anyone imagined.

Might have to bring Sparrow back in and play Laurie on the wing?

I think that's right. Really, our season is shot. We were in trouble from when our list was reduced by two players without replacement before the season even began, and by losing Trac - an absolute key - from mid season.   Syndesmosis can be nasty. Let's get him - and the rest of the team - right for next year.

A real shame for the kid but the extra break might help him.

Give Howes a go.

When one door closed… I would love to see us try Bowey or Howes on the wing in Windsor’s absence.
It would be easy to plonk Hunter back in there, but it won’t achieve much right now.

A true highlight of the season.

Get better as quick as can.  Love what you bring to the game .

Howes maybe...sadly Bowey's kicking is rubbish at moment. Used to be good... not so much now..  The wing needs precision...

Christ almighty we have had some bad luck this season!

I blame all this bad luck on the person who stole our fellow demonlander’s father’s garden gnome. Didn't that go missing mid 2022?  Our luck has been rotten since then.  Need gnome found, treated for trauma, and happily back in it's rightful home asap.

Put the Cue in the Rack for 2024

Did that other bloke from Footscray who plays on the wing make it through the Casey game last week?

Perhaps we can get him to 200 games before he's delisted 🤷‍♂️

Do we or the dogs chair him off post game!?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
