I know it's more than reasonable for you to be unable to find a spot for Schache, but if he can't get a game with T Mac, BBB, Petty, Fullarton and McAdam all (potentially) missing round 0 then he and the club should call it a day.

He's a "break glass in case of emergency" player and round 0 is looking like an emergency at the moment.

I feel as though I'm hyping up Schahce and will probably be set up for disappointment given his track record, but he's all we've got at the moment if those calf and foot injuries linger.

Tomlinson should be in defence in round 0 as May/Lever and him work well and our excellent defence is what will keep us in the game. Has Turner ever played forward?

I wouldn't be sticking my neck out for Schache but I genuinly wish him well if picked

Who is Sydney’s main key forward? They ordinary enough for someone else to go one on one with them and try send may forward?? I don’t know, just spitballing here haha

Hah

They have a treasure chest of tall forwards unlike us

Hayden McLean

Luke McDonald

Sam Reid

Joel Amartey

We will need May in the backline and he will need help

Pretty sure we won up here last year with no Melksham after half time and Fritta on one leg. Petty wasn’t there as he was injured - JVR was our main tall target

Personally I'd play a half fit Oliver in the goal square, JVR and Fritsch as marking targets , with ANB, Spargo and Schache the others. Chandler as sub to replace Schache if he fails to impact.

No way,if your not fit you dont play.Imagine the screaming if Oliver tore a hammy and missed the season

My understanding is that it’s not short term either. May be lucky to play in the first half of the season. Poor fella cannot get a clear run at it.

Are you referring to Daniel Turner possibly missing the first half of the season?

Given our forward issues, I doubt we can win in Sydney😬

They’re going through a lot of change with a new ruck and new midfield, so potentially might not be clicking R0.

So now we have reports of his hamstring, calf and groin. Amazed he can walk.

Me too! Serious groin awareness exacerbated by the running program he did when he moved over here (he had never done such a hard pre-season in his career).

I think we have reached the point where MFC supporters will count their lucky stars that we have the likes of Schache and Tomlinson on our list!

Our midfield is still amongst the best, most feared in the comp.

Our backline is blessed for wealth and depth.

Our forward line round zero, given injury concerns, should read as follows,

HF: Spargo, JVR, Billings

F: Fritsch, Schache, Tholstrup

with ANB and Chandler off the bench

ANB should be in the pocket and Kolt on the bench.

If McAdam is fit he replaces Spargo and Trac replaces any of the mids/smalls as necessary.

His half-brother, but I don’t like that term. I have sons who are considered half-brothers and last time I checked, they’re each a whole person 😅

But only half as good as a sister :)

I come from a family of failed stage magicians.

I have a half-sister.

Any chance of a Hogan return was snuffled when GWS gave him another 2 years late last season

But I reckon that ship had sailed anyway (on reflection)

But we couldn't have predicted all these injuries to all our talls anyway

Fair enough with Brown or T-Mac but both?  As well as Petty out and the possible forward/ruck in Fullarton out as well

And the other 3rd or 4th forwards in Melksham & McAdam are unavailable as well.  Kozzie out suspended.  Smith out for however long?

That's 8 forwards out for round 1 and having that many forwards out is going to affect our W/L record unless we start getting them fit & firing again

And the above is not designed to take away anyone's hope as Kozzie will be back in round 2 and Petty will present fit sooner or later.  As will McAdam for a bit of X-factor

And Fullarton might be the answer to our 2nd ruck issues when his body is good to go

As Neale Daniher said around round 5 or 6 in 2007 ... "Yeah, we're a bit banged up right now" (or words to that effect)

    CONSISTENCY by The Oracle

"I think we have got a team that can win a premiership, and if we get in this year, I don't think there is a team that is going to want to play us. This year is not a write-off, I don't concede that. Not at all." — Collingwood President Jeff Browne. I love this sort of optimism from the Magpie President after his club’s eleven goal defeat at the hands of the fast rising Hawks. It’s consistent with the fighting spirit of the club that won last year’s flag.  I only wish I could say the s

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium. Casey was welcomed to the Peninsula by grey skies, heavy rain and angry seas with threatening white-capped waves whipped up by gale force winds. After a slow start in the opening term when they failed to take advantage of the breeze, it appeared that the Demons had decided
