What they are saying at Princes Park

Winning this would be one of the biggest statement wins this century. It would make us premiership favourite, or equal premiership favourite ... All the bad luck, all the things which have gone wrong all the injuries and all the bottom end finishes over the last 20 years, if any side is due for some luck it's us. Roll into the finals series with a fit list and all our stars available then good luck to anyone in stopping us.

This. Lol. Kozzie to kill their hope again.

They rorted the system in the 80's 90's and they have the audacity to claim they have had bad luck over the years.

Please do a number on these fools Dees.

I feel they've probably underestimated the impact of the return of Clarry.

If he plays anywhere near his best and the rest of the boys show up, the Blues might be in for a bit of a let down me thinks.

I cruised the BF Blues board, annoyingly reasonable compared to most clubs, interesting discussion about balancing mid field speed with grunt, and acknowledgment that we have a fair list.

We are their biggest bogey side btw 8 wins in a row.

Also for those who are not filled in on Herbatron, I'll just leave this here, guy makes a really solid effort, (incl a clip of ANB sidestepping two Essendon players who collide (-;) I reckon he should make some clips for the front bar show, would suit perfectly .

Enjoyed the waterboy edit at the end 👌

For ever and a day i lamented the dees lack of genuine A grade talent in the middle.

I remember being ridiculously envious of the lions midfield of voss, black (one of my all time fav mon dees player) and akermanis.

And i have had now had the joy of watching a midfield the equal of that group- better if you include maxy.

But what's weird is how quickly I have come to taking it for granted.

Clarry out has been a great reminder of how lucky we are and I can't wait to see him play again. Man oh man.

A huge positive of clarry coming back in is Tracc can play forward as much as goody wants him too - rather than as a rescue mission like against the tigers.

And there wont be the need to run the A team - maxy, tracc, oliver and viney - at centre clearances UNLESS goody wasn't to go all shock and awe at some point.

Flex.

Okay, so, I have a lot of sympathy for Carlton supporters. Some, not all, I should clarify.

But knowing them as well as I do, and having by proxy followed Carlton's progress closely for many years now...

Carlton supporters insisting that they are going to be the team which will definitely bring a four-quarter effort and that it is up to the other side to keep up is just pure ironic comedy gold.

As good as clarry is, it would be super hard for anyone to be close to their best after missing over ten rounds. The good news is at 75% he's still an asset. Hope Fritta comes back in soon.

Amen to that.

The Blues are about to feel what it's like to cop the pointy end of the Demon cattle prod.

I think the last 10 weeks has shown and provided learnings to all that Clarry doesn't need to play inside at all times.

Could also be damaging late in quarters in a deep forward role like in his early years in a Dees guernsey.

I suspect something like 85% - 90% LD.  Clarry will be chomping at the bit after being held back for a number of weeks, well beyond when he felt he was ready.

We have a rampaging Tracc in career best form.

Max capable of winding his game back to new levels we haven't seen.

Kozzie playing alot better in his limited mid minutes and pretty dangerous.

Viney tearing it up since Clarry was out.

JVR having one of his best games last week.

One of the best defenses in the AFL assuming May fires up.

My only doubt is the return of Grundy that unsettles alot of the ruck cohesion in the middle, built up since his departure.

However, provided Goody recognises that we've gelled in the middle big time 'without' Grundy and keeps him away from significant chunks at CBs, hopefully that won't happen.

If that's the case i reckon we will send them packing.

If it doesn't then it will probably become a bit of a [censored] fest & another coin toss.

Good post Dd. With Viney playing so well and Trac back in ,I wouldn't be surprised if come finals Trac could spend a lot of time forward. Grundy worries me too. I hope he clicks up forward.

How culinary standards have plummeted in the  Princess Park environs.

Lygon Street was once a mecca for good Italian tucker. And all that appears to be on offer now is noodles and mass produced domino's lasagna. Which has probably been sitting in the bain-marie all afternoon after the Rathdowne Towers pension day rush.

Whilst there is a lot of cuisine catering to the cheaper student market due to proximity of Uni of Melbourne and RMIT, Carlton and surrounds does have some decent culinary spots ... just off the top of my head ... Carlton Wine Room, King & Godfree, DOC, Abla's, Kazuki's, Etta, La Luna ...

As for on the football field, i would say most Blues supporters are aiming for wins against Gold Coast and GWS and see the Dees as a free hit, not expecting to win with some significant outs of key players but still in with a chance of an upset because the lesser known players are playing their roles and bringing intensity to their game in recent times.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
