  1. Any other Evertonians here? I watched the derby against Liverpool yesterday. The Toffees went a long way to avoiding the drop and also put a serious dent in Liverpool's title hopes. Love it! 💙⚽️😁 Now I am waiting for a third round of points deduction for Everton ... they are clearly to blame for global warming and the conflict in Gaza!
  2. Or North Melbourne relocate there. The Northern Kangaroos ...
  3. Another draw wouldn't go astray 😁 PS - have no issue with draws, seen my fair share in soccer over the years.
  4. A draw is a good outcome 😁
  5. A close tussle between two mid-table sides. Loathe the Bombers but if the Pies were to lose today, the wailing and gnashing of teeth from their supporters would be quite enjoyable ... hang on ... gnashing of teeth ... scratch that ... just wailing 😁
  6. Hope they persist with him in the middle for next week against Carlton, the Blues aren't known for contested ball footy 😁
  7. I hope the Magpies swoop for him.
  8. ^^ Casey might have some ocean wind come off Western Port Bay nearby but I wouldn't say Caulfield is windy.
  9. You don't need the MCG but you need a certain minimum level of spectator and basic tv broadcasting facilities. VFL & AFLW don't play at Gosch's Paddock but rather at Casey Fields for a reason.
  10. And there is Glen Huntly Park with an oval outside the race track on the southern side that could in time have stands, viewing areas that don't impede views for racing and give MFC access to 3 ovals 🤔
  11. I like the idea of a two campus approach given that AFL clubs do now essentially have 4 teams and academy commitments. A lot of AFL clubs will find themselves cramped going forward. Not sure what this means for operating costs though? (is Casey on a user hire basis?) 🤔 A advantage of a Caulfield-Casey dual approach is that Caulfield is central for metro Melbourne, close to areas where there are many traditional Demons supporters (inner South East) but Casey is in the outer South East, a growing part of Melbourne and can possibly play a role in expanding the Dees supporter base. As long as all 4 teams use both Caulfield and Casey on occasions, it doesn't necessarily need to create divisions.
  12. I have one of these guarding my Thai Basil plants 😊
  13. Search your feelings WCW ... 😁
  14. On the train home after a pleasant afternoon at Marvel Stadium. Strong win by the Blues, a Blues side missing quite a few important players with injury.
  15. Those days are over I suspect, Parc de Princes has more competent people at the helm these days. Agreed that Irish recruiting is not cheap and it is largely going ahead on the back of Carlton's improved finances with strong growth in memberships over the last few years.
  16. Probably. I took my young son to a pre-season open training session at Princes Park earlier this year and reckon there was about 3K attending and that was probably because of the ongoing optimism and good vibes of Carlton's second half of season 2023.
  17. JvR is good contract extension signing for the Dees. Hasn't really hit his straps this season but he is young, has a competitive streak and likes physical contact. He can mature into a quality forward over time.
  18. About 6K turned up to an open training session at Parc des Princes last September to watch the Blues train in the lead up to the preliminary final.
  19. North should head to Canberra. Along with adjacent areas of Southern NSW (traditional Australian Rules Football territory) it has a population base possibly larger than Tasmania. Playing a few Northern Territory games could also be an idea. GWS playing some matches in Canberra just dilutes the push into Western Sydney IMO.
  20. Well it wasn't a 50 point pasting (I would probably give that a miss), a close loss where we kicked 14 points, want to see what we did wrong (curses at the tv ... 😁).
