Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

All the sick and injured players were named and of their 4 emergencies, 2 of the 4 players played today. Only Markov and McInness realistically available just as JJ & Taj didn't play today.

Doubt there will be any late changes.

No mcstay. That's good.

I know he'd be underdone but we've struggled against mutiple talls, most notably against the bombers.

Cox and Cameron will split ruck and forward- and both push forward at times - mihocek plays tall, as does Johnson, so a fit mcstay would stretch us.

I'll be curious who tomo plays on. Cameron and Cox?

Mihocek is brilliant one on one and  tomo isn't. But I wouldn't mind seeing tomo take mihocek.

Similar size, and mihocek gets on his bike, which suits tomo more than wrestling with Cox and Cameron 30 mertres our from goal.

May is s much better option for the two rucks.

If petty, who we are really missing,  plays forward when he returns after the bye, there's a spot for tomo down back. Love to seem him take it.

He is moving more like he did before his knee, much more agile than last season, has a great tank and is a lovely field kick. So he has a good shot at it.

Really hope James Jordon isn't the sub.

In all games that he's started off as a sub he's made zero impact coming on. And that's purely because he not a impact at all. He's a role player who's also limited at times

Woewodin at least comes in and provides some fresh energy and zip into the team.

Look I’m probably going to sound whingey (dilligaf) but if you cancel sportsman’s nights because 2 of your players have the flu, they should have to pass a rigrorous medical including respiratory illness testing

I mean what kind of mid 1800s infectious diseases circus is the afl running when CLEARLY INFECTIOUS Collingwood players can spread the flu amongst the oppo

You'd think if Woey was in as a sub, there would be a bit more of a build up. I imagine his dad would be presenting the jersey, or at least hanging around the club.

JJ as sub, Woey as emergency.

We won’t and should not debut a kid as the sub. Especially the son of a former champion. It’s just not right.

The late teams we’re probably due to a number of Pies players waiting for negative COVID tests. They are not held back for normal illness.

I would be amazed if they can play out a full game. We should walk all over them in the 2nd half.

Add to that the Perth factor and you might be right.

In a no horse**** move, Goody appears to be keeping Mr Ed well 'stabled' on the named interchange for the start of the King's B'Day thriller. Brayden Maynard was disappointed as there was no duck on the filth dinner menu. Brayden will be offered a serving of humble pie,         cold.

It's unbelievable how many posts in this thread are about who will or won't play for Collingwood.

WGAF.

Two years ago we lost to them and they had about 6 of their star players out up in Sydney..

This game will come down to our pressure, ability to execute the fundamentals consistently most of the game and ability to win contests all over the ground. Regardless of who is in or out.

We owe this feral club a beating. And it will all depend on what mindset we bring to the game. They are not invincible, but I trust their ability to perform more than us atm like most do. But it will have nothing to do with outs.

Port beat us with a VFL level forward line by bringing a mindset and application all game. Hawthorn the same against Brisbane.

Completely in our hands.

I was at that game in Sydney. My son’s first game. Fitting really.

The table of expectation now turns and we can just play some tough footy.

I always thought this would be a game around two specifics...  respective defences... and 4 qtrs of run and pressure.

If we come to play ( seriously) we should have the tank for 4 qtrs.

Collingwood 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 maybe not so much.

If we can be a least evens at 3/4 time i suspect those collywobbly legs will get very heavy ...for some.

Interesting game ahead.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
