6 Petracca - what a workhorse.

5 McVee - tidy and composed.

4 May - always in control.

2 Gawn - much improved on last week.

1 Van Rooyen - strong performance.

Bonus mark: Bowey until his injury.

1. Gawn.

Brayshaw, Hunter, Rivers, Salem, Spargo, Chandler, Viney & Langdon - they all got their share of the ball, but their kicking was so poor I refuse to give them votes. Kicking practice urgently required by the lot of them. Langdon in the last quarter was very good , and Bowey was in epic form before the head knock.

Apologies to Sparrow, couldn't quite fit him in .

Backline excellent. Riv, McVee and Bowey could’ve had votes too.

Fritsch found some touch after a rough start. Great to see him up the ground and involved more. JVR good. Spargo good. Chandler almost good.

Wingers had nearly games against ordinary opponents.

4. Salem

3. Gawn - very good second half and superb last quarter

2. Lever

1. Van Rooyen

Really Petracca was the stand out but May's performance on Curnow was excellent.  Don't underestimate the role Tomlinson played.  Although beaten by his direct opponent he was part of a system that kept an AFL team with two Coleman medallists to 44 points.  He freed up Lever to do what he does best.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
