Tend to agree but perhaps making PF is the pass with making GF the expectation.

Forward structure is the big unknown

I note Zero Hanger's question relates (just) to home and away wins. As the clichė has it, 'finals is a whole new season'.

Mind you, ZH's home and away Dees pass mark would have us top 2 anyway, so I'm with @Diamond_Jim's take, but for @DubDee's time frame!

Were in our peak years right now, GF is the pass mark.

We've been in the doldrums for years smelt and felt the pain for long enough, its our time now to strike for glory.

2 out of the next 3 GFs

Our list is primed, we know what it takes. Injuries are a factor but even though we bottled it second half last year we were the leading defence and ahead in every game,

Key for me is how the coaching staff adapt to competitors ripping our game apart. Flexibility and unpredictability will go a long way to us succeeding

Anything less than 1 finals win would be a clear fail. Even 2 finals wins would be a bare pass given how narrow our window is.

We wasted the past 12 months, we can't afford to go another year without genuinely contending for a premiership.

H&A pass mark: Top 4 finish

Season pass mark: Prelim

If we can stay relatively healthy, then I think we have every right to expect we make the Grand Final.

Totally agree & précised perfectly

A prelim appearance and one finals win. Two finals wins if we disappointingly miss top 4 after the H&A.

Have to question where we are heading under the current regime if we fail to win a final this year and we have a decent run with injuries.

- Win 18-19 h/a games

- Minor Premiers - play all finals on the G

- Win 3 Finals

= PASS

Fail - Runners Up

Removing my red and blue glasses, I still consider us to have the strongest and deepest list which is adequately and logically supported by the Casey premiership.

Pass mark for me is another flag and to achieve that I reckon we’ll have to beat Brisbane in the Granny, who imo have assembled a very strong squad.

With you here McQueen on the deep list and flag however no use having a deep list if we don't rest some sore players during the year and play our depth. This is where IMO we fell down in 22. Coaching depo need to do a Cats and give those sore bodies a rest every now and again.. Can't go into finals all banged up again.

Premiership is the pass mark.

Our best 25 as a group are at the peak of its demographic.  Major increase in top line talent with Grundy & Hunter.  Grundy a big upgrade on Jackson in the short term with the Premiership window wide open.

Assuming a good run with injuries we should win it.

Get to a prelim and hopefully we have the luck from there.

We need to win 18-19 games. This will allow us to rest/manage players coming into finals and give us the best chance of winning the flag

Really? I still see gaps defensively, Neale still can't beat a hard tag, and on field leadership a gap. They have some guns, I just don't see the synergy, that GFC, MFC, RFC have had lately. What is the biggest improvement you see that has you buying their stock (without the 3D glasses).

I expect a flag, subject to injuries. If they play in the GF then I wouldn't be too salty, but I can't believe we are this good without also expecting results.

Injuries are the key though.

And I really wish Kozzie would sign, that is going to be a distraction this year.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
