All class. Very close to making it. Strange he wasn't given a chance to try his luck during trade week.

Probably was. He would have been mentioned in an array of 'possibles'. Suggest there were no takers. Or clubs thought they could punt the free agent/rookie market for him.

Thanks for your contributions Oskar - you were part of a premiership list but couldn’t quite break through into a highly rated team.  No disgrace and good luck with the rest of your career and life.

Good Luck to you Oscar, im sure the the SANFL would welcome you with open arms.

All the best Oskar. Mum would have been extremely proud of your achievements.

Yes - he honoured the promise he made.

Just revisited the jumper presentation, a reminder of just what an achievement it is to get there.

Hope he gets another chance. I felt his disposal and decision making improved this year

Bulldogs poised to sign Baker

The Western Bulldogs are poised to sign speedy Melbourne wingman Oskar Baker via the pre-season supplemental selection period.

The 24-year-old played 15 games with Melbourne after making his debut in 2019 but could not get a look-in at the Demons, with Ed Langdon, James Jordon and Angus Brayshaw all playing on the wing.

Really hope he does get signed.  Always makes me pleased to see our delisted or frindge ex-players get a chance at another club.

Western Bulldogs Hierarchy Stiff.

"Now Mitch, we know you [censored] that handball on the 50 in the Grand Final that would have broken the Dee's hearts... and you are a professional footballer, and you shouldn't make those mistakes in high pressure situations. Anyway we were going to de-list you. But before we do, I happened to be trawling on the internet. I have a guilty pleasure... Mariah Carey... remember back in the early 90's and she released an Xmas CD - it was my fave.... anyway I stumbled across 'My Heart Will Go On'...let me tell you - I can belt it out... anyway, there was this video clip of YOU Mitch, YOU, running down the wing against the Cats as that premiership gumby Blicavs fell over... and you smashed that goal... that must have been incredible. Anyway, I didn't know that about you, clearly our intel is lacking.... and that my friend is a long long boring segue to get to the main thrust of this monologue., Sigh...our intel is still lacking... Got any hot tips for blokes that could play on our wing?"

And  ball hasn't been kicked in frothy anger yet!!!

Best of luck to him. They have a lot of classy mids so perhaps he will reinvent his role.

Very few players I genuinely wish the best for in other colours but he is one of them. Go Oskar!

Wouldn't mind seeing him go well at the Dogs. Did nothing wrong with us other than being down the pecking order.

Just hope he doesn't kick the winning goal in round 1 next year!

personally, would be surprised if he's in their starting 23

if they can teach him to kick - something that not even choc could fix - he'll be a more than handy player cos his workrate and running is excellent

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
