Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Langdon and Kozzy must have been close.

Gawn surely has to get jacket number 6 and Oliver and Trac are locks.

Seems to be a lot of good defenders around at the moment so not sure if May or Brayshaw make it or not.

I think Frittata is a good chance as long as they don’t pick an unbalanced side with too many key/big forwards or too many midfielders as forwards.

Two HF will be midfielders (Trac one of em). You'll then have Hawkins, Curnow, Mackay, Cameron and Lynch all fighting for CHF &  FF. One of the forward pockets will be a small forward which will be one of Stengle, Bolton, Papley and Cameron (probably C. Cameron) . The 6th forward position could be anything. Fritta has to be ahead on the small forwards, but my feel is that they'll give it to Jeremy Cameron as the 3rd tall and go Curnow, Lynch for 1 & 2 and Hawkins on the bench.

Think Langdon's second half of the season not as impressive as his first. He was very unlucky in 2021 - only unlucky in 2022.

Not sure if it is my inherit Dees bias, but Papley over Pickett? Know he had more disposals etc but a little surprising for mine

Kossi a bit stiff I reckon, but there are a few decent small forwards around at the moment, and the selectors would only be looking at goals kicked and not the less obvious stuff.

His main issue is consistency. There were a few games prior to his outstanding game against Port, where he was hardly involved. But he is still very young and i think if he continues to improve and have an impact on games he will have few AA jackets by the end of his career.

Kozzi is stiff as.  If you asked any supporter which small fwd they would want in their team based on this 2022 form, everyone would pick Kozzi

I reckon Gawn, Trac and Clarry are locked for the 22.  Gus a maybe. May and Fritsch have not done enough imo

Lingers has had an average second half of the year. No issues with him missing out

Wasn’t so hot after his rib injury but coming good at the right time of year.!!

Yep; starting to look good! Just too many weeks in between of average (which is fine, just not AA standard) performance

Happy with our ins, Langdon stiff but did drop away in the second half of the year. There doesn’t appear to be any wing in that squad though. It’s become a very important position, unless Shai Bolton is put in as a wing?
Pies are a bit stiff, N Daicos, Pendlebury and Sidebottom have all had excellent years, I’d have one of them over some of MacRae, Kelly, Sinclair and even Warner.

I’d have Jackson over Witts or Blitsavs also. What the ruck selections show is how far beyond the rest of the rucks in the competition Max is, must get a 6th jacket.

AA selection committee meet mid year and Kossie wouldn't have rated a mention. Far better 2nd half but not enough to crack the squad.

Jack Mccrae is a surprise. Had an average year.

Josh Kelly too

Pretty sure they meet more than that. I remember hearing Kane Cornes talk about an upcoming committee meeting only a week or so ago.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
