Or on Wednesdays, should it be called Footy Collingwood or Footy Eddie?

It is now just about unwatchable. All Eddie does, is to involve Collingwood in every segment and every part of the show and even himself, by declaring his production company is doing this that or the other. Additionally whatever is said by another panellist, Eddie adds “yes that is my info or what I have been told “. The big noting.

It is actually sickening.

Whatever they talk about, Collingwood is mentioned by him. There are always clips of Collingwood. No matter what the topic, there is mention of Collingwood.

Enough is enough.

It was one of my favourite footy shows, but on Wednesday is now unwatchable.

Please get Eddie off the panel and bring in anyone else, so that it can get back to being a footy show, not a Collingwood/Eddie one.

Have never watched it and never will.

Tbh I can't watch any AFL media anymore. It is a complete joke and it is all sensationalist BS.

At the start of the season we were 'unbeatable', now Geelong are unbeatable and we are worthy of being a bottom 4 side.

It's not the perpetual Collingwood coverage that bugs me. It's Caroline Wilson and Eddie McGuire talking over each other and their co-panellists that I find most irritating. Conversely, watching the discipline of Matthew Lloyd and Ross Lyon who ensure they don't speak when it's not their turn might help explain why they were so successful in their former football roles.

I wonder how long it will take for this to become a Caroline Wilson pile on thread🙄

Sorry 'Dante'.  I didn't see your post before posting mine.

At least your comments are always mild mannered something of a rare commodity on DL at times.

So it's ok to bag Eddie but not Caro?

What is your agenda here?

I hate-watch FC - it's a guilty pleasure of mine to pop it on while doing the dishes n cleaning up. Time flies when you're listening to them discuss footy news and  board issues like it's life n death.

I've already said I didn't see LDcV's post referring to Caro and Eddie.

No it is not ok to bag either of them.  It is not ok to bag anyone doing their job.

No agenda.  I just find these type of threads tedious.  They and the number of repetitive threads on DL is causing me to post less and less these days.  So maybe I do have an agenda:  enjoy DL a bit more than I have lately.

And before you tell me to not open a thread if I don't like what is posted, believe me I don't.  After the first 10-20 posts of a new thread the writing is often on the wall and I don't open them again.  To qualify that: if anyone quotes me I will come to a thread to give them the courtesy of reading their comments and if required respond.  This thread is now in that category.

It is a horrible show that has gotten worse. They never each other speak and then argue about nonsense and who is right become more important than what the topic is.

I used to be a regular watcher years and years ago. Now it seems like they are trying to gather together the most annoying people on the one panel.

Faulty, Luci is the lovely person who rounds up the spilled conscious of opposition fans for our benefit every week.

Not wanting to read more odious takes on the faces we see on the TV is not an agenda.

Yeah but Eddie sucks…

About now  LH!!!!!🤨Cannot stand her and her pro Tigers BS

The disconnect between the way football is currently played versus how it’s reported on, and the amount of time reported on it, is becoming more extreme each year.

It’s either painfully dumbed down, or so shouty and antagonistic that it’s objective is to become its own story.

I always imagined that as your team became more successful you enjoyed and devoured more of the footy media to soak it all in. Sadly it’s been the other way for me. I find it dull and devoid of insight.

Must admit I've also tuned out...it really adds nothing to the game.

Totally agree - the footy media is appalling: I can’t even think of any exceptions. Dumb, sensationalist boys club, based partly on guesswork and partly second hand gossip. They wouldn’t have a clue.

Eddie’s Footy Classified is almost unwatchable.
Video Clip: “Look at this piece of play without noticing Filth Players are involved”

or McGuire Media is involved in this ….

Go Away McGuire….

did you all notice that towards the end of fc last night they previewed the scum v filth game

they started off by showing a long diorama glorifying past violence between the two clubs

they just have no idea......they don't get that it's 2022 where the threat of concussion litigation looms over the industry

Someone actually watches it.

I'm impressed

I only watch the 3-5 minute analysis clips, could not sit through an entire episode

Welcome back to the thread LH 😘

On the topic, I hate footy media these days also. It's far too negative and there's so much baseless rubbish said with no accountability. I tend to come to Demonland for footy discussion and news and hope threads don't turn into ****fights when opinions aren't agreed with. Not sure this thread specifically about FC and Eddie was necessary, but always appreciate your posts LH and love your weekly threads about what opportunity fans are saying.

The glorifying of violence is such an incredibly pervasive element of how the game is covered. It infuriates me.

There are a million examples, but a a recent one that really grated was the giddy, thug love in with Darcy, thug Matthews and Luke 'nothing to see here' Hodge when Cripps ironed out Ah Chee (who by the by cant play tomorrow night, but not because of the 12 day protocol, but because he STILL suffering from concussion symptoms. Same is apparently true for Marcus Adams).

Eddie is a relic. In the same category as Sammy Newman. Time to retire to the golf course

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.
