NON-MFC: Round 14, 2022

You'll need 13 to play finals this year, because the last couple of sides are so bad.  Port would need 7 from 9 from here. Unlikely but not impossible.  It's been a good effort by them after being 0-5.

We have seen Blues, Swans and Saints lose to clubs outside the 8 this round. As we saw last season many top 8 clubs dropped games to lower sides in second half  in particular to those that still have a chance of making finals. Ladder predictor will become less predictable as we enter the latter stage of season.

Just now, Mr Steve said:

Footy gods are smiling at the MFC so far this weekend.

Nah, it’s the presentation game day, of working hard on the track. It’s not about god, it’s about science…

Port can’t afford to reload this season and will ultimately fall away towards the tail end. That’s whAt 0-5 does to you.

But FMD where was this Swans outfit 2 weeks ago. Even with our poor form we would have beaten them by 6 goals.

Just [censored] me how every round a side brings their utmost best against us especially when we needed a break. Suppose the boys wouldn’t want it any other way.

Hilarious that the Water Closet Eagles are level with the Cats at the break. They will surely get run over in the second half but at least it won't be a % booster for Geelong.

I can’t stand the Cats but boy I really love their f50 connection. They move it as slow as we do but they just find the space for Hawkins all the time. His not terribly quick but he plays the role perfectly.

If We could build connection like that, then BBB, Fritt and even Weid will be able to kick bags. The bomb and hope has to be eliminated from our game style.

WCE at least pushing the arrogant Cats ….. maybe those here who complained that we didn’t beat them by 100 points can rethink.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
