I love it!  Getting back to something closer to our best.  Plenty of time for the oft mentioned synergies to develop …….. besides, our MC know what they are doing!

Not messing about there. Interesting if Bedford is the sub ahead of Rivers, and Mitch Brown is the tall emergency.

Wow 5 changes

Rivers did need a break I think

14 disposals last week, so I like the idea of a rest rather than dropped through poor form. He’s been pretty good all year.

Been a long time since we made 5 changes but other than Thommo for May, the incomers all improve the side

Thought they might have been a touch conservative with Salem and had him come back via Casey....

Not surprised by Rivers, not changing a winning team probably has kept him in ....

I am astounded Salem is in. 5 mins in first game the ten weeks on the side lines with a knee injury a large part of which would involve no running. Hope to God they have this right as he is our best kick and we have sorely missed him the last 10 weeks.

Ben Brown slightly lucky, wouldn't want another game with a handful of touches and no goals. Equally, need better entry into the forward line.

5 massive INs!!

The teams looks so much better.

Mitch Brown lurking in the emergencies - better play well Brown and T Mac!

Swap May with Tommo and that’s our best 22 right there.

Spot on. But I do have a soft spot for Hibberd in defence.

Was very happy he was in the PF 22 when May went down

He was the most like for like and his form hasn’t been as good as Bowey

Hunt plays a different role to Rivers and you wouldn’t have Salem or Rivers then playing that role; Hunt has played it well this year.

I called it a few weeks ago on a FB group that I thought Rivers would be the most logical replacement….it’s stiff, but that’s what this team has gotten to now

I like the boldness of the changes. Great to see Salem straight back in. I hope Rivers is the medi-sub. Last week we were caught out with replacing our best defender with midfield back up. I know we didn't know May was gonna fall but I couldn't help but wonder how the game would've been different if we had Tomlinson as the sub.  As a general rule it would be good to see us play it safe and have a defender as the medi-sub.

All the exact like-for-like changes I was expecting, although I expected Salem to have a kick at Casey first. Other than May/Thommo, it’s an upgrade in every case. Looking forward to this now.

Very happy with this. Not concerned about Salo as he completed the entire pre-season and by all accounts most of our training sessions are as hard as the real thing anyway. Roll on Saturday night.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
