  1. Laurie just can’t ever play another game - he’s so far off it
  2. Off topic to an extent as he was clearly not going to play, but I think a lot really sleep on the positive impact that Petty brings - people want to jump on that he’s been terrible, but I couldn’t disagree more. He’s had some egregiously bad moments that have directly resulted in goals being given up - but that’s all anyone wants to highlight. He’s positioning, ability to compete, intercept & contest mark is extremely good, he tackles and competes on the ground and has a fantastic spoil - I really think he’s actually been solid/ok this season - don’t just look at the few errors (many players have made some absolute howlers that have resulted in goals against) and look more broadly at his impact on games. I think he’s very underrated considering people have been calling for his head in a side where he’s played about five different positions & has had some great moments as well. I for one, think he’s an absolute walk up starter in this team.
  3. I keep saying it to you, you can give up the Henderson dream, he won’t ever play a game at AFL level again
  4. Or they’re just managing his load through recovery
  5. Can’t disagree - I think the answer is that simply neither is of AFL standard Would rather Tommy Matthew’s get a run - purely on the idea of upside/potential rather than being ‘ready’
  6. Henderson will only get a game if they’re absolutely scraping the bottom of the barrel
  7. There’s more to games than goals - he should’ve kicked two last week and has impacted games in other ways - watch the contest and where/how it’s impacted rather than a stat sheet - two of those games the entire team was average
  8. Henderson isn’t an AFL level player
  9. Did you even watch the game (or better yet, watch the game in person where you get a whole perspective on player impact away from the ball)? Or just look at the stats? Stats don’t always tell the whole story - same with JVR last game Petty had numerous contests where he positively impacted the play that won’t show up on the stat sheet. To your other comment - to say he was horrible against Carlton (Freo the majority were average) just tells me all you’re doing is looking at a stat sheet and judging form based on that. That is an incredibly poor way to assess player impact - especially if you’re using the basic stats to do so
  10. He was average against Freo (as were many), but was impactful against Carlton in a different role - playing ruck relief...to say he has been almost 'unsighted' IMO is far off the mark - Should've kicked two goals against the Suns, had 14 disposals + look at the contests he was involved with - the last goal we kicked was a perfect example of a non stat impact play...similar to mihocek in the second half, his effort and contest directly imacted the creation of that goal but wont appear on the stat sheet. You HAVE to watch more than the stat sheet & the ball and look for what happens around the contest; impact can happen all over the ground that isn't as visible...
  11. I think you’re greatly underestimating the impact Petty has had…he was good against the Suns in a utility role
  12. I hear you & don’t necessarily disagree, I just think the way Kentfield plays translates better to the AFL than Jefferson. Kentfield is a stronger body allowing him to be a better body on body forward with a great set of hands…I just hope the Jefferson isn’t in the very good VFL player whose game just doesn’t translate with their body type… I have little doubt Kentfield debut’s round 1 if he doesn’t get injured - I think he’s jumped Jefferson based on what he brings
  13. Don’t disagree & I wouldn’t imagine both of those players will get a game off - especially if they continue to perform, they just provide so much for the team. Jefferson had a better statistical game thank Kentfield, but I think Kentfields game translates to the AFL better than Jefferson (he can second ruck) but he’s a much better body on body forward than Jefferson + he’s a better kick than Jefferson. I don’t disagree that you need to get games for these guys + want to get games into these guys, it just might not be at a rate of 10 or 5 in a row, but 2 or 3…
  14. His disposal was horrid? I thought his decision making was OK at times, but execution was horrible…just don’t see it with Laurie If you watch the replay - the amount of ways Mihocek impacted the game that isn’t on the stat sheet was astounding…body work, being ‘in the way’ to let others have a clear run, there were numerous times that he directly impacted a positive play that wasn’t due to his disposal - he’s FAR from being dropped, quite the opposite
  15. Doesn’t the entire VFL not play next week?
