Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yep, they would still be firing, taking the un-takeables, splitting the big sticks with everything they aimed at, no matter the distance.

Remember that day well. i think it was the last time i went to Colonial Stadium, apart from the AC/DC Concert in 2010.

I went to America the next day. They put me in the back row. It’s a long way to sit without a reclining seat!!

Genuinely a ripping bloke.

I have meet him a few times, when we were bottom of the barrel and he gave us as much time as we wanted to talk and also took time to chat with my kids.

Great bloke and should have been a one club player.

I had a similar experience. Very easy to chat to. Gave Melbourne 120 per cent in every game he played. So passionate and was a spent force at the end of every game. Played his guts out. Sad to see his departure from the club he loved and I'm sure still does just quietly. I dont think he was ever reported in his many games and a most respected player in the AFL.

Very fond memories of Cam Bruce very talented footballer and I also remember that day, Cam was in career best form and Gueras tackle was aimed at taking him out. My fondest memory of Cam was that final in 2000 against the Blues and his fist pumping after kicking a very important  goal in that amazing win. Very sad when he was forced out.😢😢

It was Brent Guerra, with his crude tackle that was the main culprit.

Brent Guerra pinned both arms and drove him into the Colonial Dome concrete

Yeah, it was Guerra and the turf at Docklands.

He would have got 5 weeks for it now.

The week after Cam said in an interview "three hot days doesn't make a summer". Remember it well, we were really up and about. I wasn't quite gutted to the same level as when Ox did his second knee, but it was in the same ballpark.

I remember that vividly, I believe it was Docklands turf that did it??

Wasn’t the turf that did it he was driven into the ground. It was a pretty ordinary act by Brent Guerra, who got him late and IMO tried to injure him and did.

Talk about sliding doors moments, we were in excellent form at that stage and Cam Bruce was playing incredible football, up there with the best we’ve seen from a Melbourne player. From that point on Bruce was never the same player, his departure from the club was a big hole that was massively underestimated by the FD.

Was a deliberate act by Guerra to injure Cameron that day, maybe not to that point but his intentions were to cause pain.

Agreed. That type of act is why we have these rules now. A reminder that some things in the game are better now.

We offered Cam a one year deal and the Hawks offered two, so he took the two. He approached the Hawks and I believe Clarkson tried to talk him out of leaving Melbourne.

I remember when Hawkins played his first game, I think it was, for the Cats and we put Cam on him, he monstered Cam and rag dolled him in the first contest they were in, one of the worst matchups I've ever seen.

We wanted to keep Cam so got rid of Jnr, and then Cam walked.  We were left with our pants down and egg on our face.  PJ said one of the first things he had to do was repair the damage caused by getting rid of Jnr.  The mind still boggles.

We had a policy at that time of not offering more than a one year contract to anyone over 30 and we were inflexible which was stupid.

They played Junior in every game and then wouldn't offer him a contract at the end of the year, if my memory serves me he had a poor previous year due to, I think, injury so they offered him a year, then even after he'd played well delisted him.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
