Apology for what?

Stating the obvious that Jackson is going home when it's been well reported by other media outlets since May this year? Haha rightio mate..

Or should we say, rightio Sandra Sully.

You clearly have not read this thread.

If I told you, you would not believe me anyway.  Regardless clearly I cant tell you this. I would never be privy to this information again and I would destroy a good thing.  Its up to you if you want to believe me or not.

You could guess all those and still have a better than 50% chance of getting them right just based on player performance and likelihood.

For the record saying who we are making a play for should never be read as we are getting.

In saying all of that if Jackson goes which is likely the Dees will almost certainly get Grundy.  We have made a huge play for him. But this you can read in the MSM and this does not mean its 100%.

Another Sandra Sully special.

Weids has a year left on his contact but was put up for sale last year and there were no takers........ not even Collingwood. Melb decided to re-sign him than give him away for nothing.  He is unlikely to get any interest this year and thus likely to be on our list in 2023. Currently he has fallen behind JVR and unlikely to see senior footy again in 2022.

Tomlinson will request a trade despite being in contract. A early 3rd rounder will do it.

Bedford out of contract and likely to request a trade due to high competition for his spot.

Baker likely to be delisted

Mitch Brown a 50/50 delist or new contract, may be kept for depth on a one year contract.

Kade Chandler - contracted and no whispers of him requesting trade

Jake Melksham - was gone and had even secured a job in finance for 2023 but clearly now highly likely to get another season.

Fraser Rossman - likely to be delisted

Jayden Hunt - likely to re-sign but considering offers from other clubs.

Michael Hibbert - 50/50 retire or one more season

That's my mail.

Please don’t go Jayden

Gary Lyon on SEN just said Jacko deal to Freo not done yet. Could possibly sign a 2 yr extension with us

This was from someone he knows in the industry but said he didn’t know and it wasn’t from the MFC  He was just passing it on

The intrigue continues.

Garry has the same management company as Luke. He'd know!

Getting back to the LJ possible deal, couldn’t Freo clear Logue, who is rumoured to be unhappy, to WC plus their first pick say 14, for WC pick 2. They then get Doggies first pick, say 11, for Lobb, with maybe a later pick back to Dogs.

Freo then give us 2, 11 and say key forward Treacy, a Vic Country boy who is not getting a game with them atm, but is only 19, 195 cms, good hands, long kick and hard at the ball. Could be ok for us. With 2 we get Cadman.

We then have 11 to use, Cadman, JVR and Treacy, all young key forwards, with current guys BBB and Tom Mac for another year as well.

Get Grundy and we have solved ruck and key forwards issues for years.

Could trade 11 for another player, or use it in the draft.

That could be a sensational off season, while losing a potential great player, also  getting in several other players to solve list balance problems.

Thoughts?

I read an article today suggesting Cadman was in top three contention, so 11 is no good there

I said under the Roos tenure. If you hadn't noticed, he's been gone for 5 years.

This is the biggest bit of fluff I’ve read

Half your post is media speak that all Demonlanders already have heard

The other half is blatantly obvious, predicting what we all think will probably happen

How about sticking your neck out with something we don’t know

Not to defend GNF, but if you hate his/her posts/think they're rubbish; why not just block him/her?

Makes for a better site than the current personal attacks.

What's with the vitriol toward @Grand New Flag?

It's a bloody supporters forum.

Any information, even if some doesn't turn out to be true should be enjoyed. And the poster has been accurate in the past haven't they?

I'd rather have info even if it's sometimes off then none at all.

The number 6 is signing for 2 years 🤷‍♂️

Also, controversial opinion, but I'd rather Luke go and we get Grundy for an early second round pick and make our way up the draft with the picks we get for Jackson with the aim to grab two top-liners.

We stay in contention in the now and also add for the future.

Jackson will never become the player Freo believe if their contract offer is anything to go by.

His instagram username has always had a 12 in it. It's been there since before he was drafted.

He did remove the "#6" from his instagram bio though. I'm not sure of the reasoning for the removal.

Because 12 is twice as good as 6 😜

Yes, but everyone keeps quoting him/her/they/GlenBartletsCousin. And it is hardly ‘personal’ - DD, myself, and others are pointing out to our fellow landers that this person is not worth reading.

That he spent years happily trolling us about information that was erroneous, crudely casting aspersions on our current president as she saved the club from Mr Bartlett, and now intimating that LJs mother is to blame for him not staying at the club.

This isn’t the fun that Nudge or Chilli bring - this is more manipulative and disrespectful to Landers and the club.

I will leave it there lest I become borish but there it is.

I reckon 'Landers can decide for themselves tbh. If you've been annoyed by their posts for years then just put them on block. There's plenty of trolls here, some just follow specific posters around making comments about them (Hi Ethan), but what I've learned is the block function is your friend. They're not worth it if they get to you that much.

Not defending anything GNF has said or will say, just trying to save you the drama.

I don't recall if he/she has been accurate in the past.

But I believe one of the reasons people are so wary of his/her posts is he/she was the one who posted a series of inane riddles one year about a massive trade which never eventuated, which frustrated people.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are back on the road with a massive challenge ahead — facing the reigning premiers, the Brisbane Lions, at their Gabba fortress. The Lions are licking their wounds after a shock draw in Tasmania last week, while Melbourne’s season hangs in the balance. Can the Dees defy the odds and pull off a miracle to keep their razor thin finals hopes alive?

The Sir Doug Nicholls Round kicks off in Darwin with a Top 4 clash between the Suns and the Hawks. On Friday night the Swans will be seeking to rebound from a challenging start to the season, while the Blues have the Top 8 in their sights after their sluggish start. Saturdays matches kick off with a blockbuster between the Collingwood and Kuwarna with the Magpies looking to maintain their strong form and the Crows aiming to make a statement on the road. The Power face a difficult task to revive their season against a resilient Cats side looking to make amends for their narrow loss last week. The Giants aim to reinforce their top-eight status, while the Dockers will be looking to break the travel hoodoo. The sole Saturday game is a critical matchup for both teams, as the Bulldogs strive to cemet their spot in the top six and the Bombers desperately want break into the 8. Sundays start with a bottom 3 clash between the Tigers and Kangaroos with both teams wanting to avoid the being in wooden spoon contention. The Round concludes with the Eagles still searching for their first win of the season, while the Saints look to keep their finals hopes alive with a crucial away victory. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

And just like that, we’re Narrm again. Even though the annual AFL Sir Doug Nicholls Round which commemorates the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to our game has been a welcome addition to our calendar for ten years, more lately it has been a portent of tough times ahead for we beleaguered Narrm supporters. Ever since the club broke through for its historic 2021 premiership, this has become a troubling time of the year for the club. For example, it all began when Melbourne rebranded itself as Narrm across the two rounds of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round to become the first club to adopt an Indigenous club name especially for the occasion. It won its first outing under the brand against lowly North Melbourne to go to 10 wins and no losses but not without a struggle or a major injury to  star winger Ed Langdon who broke his ribs and missed several weeks. In the following week, still as Narrm, the team’s 17 game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Dockers. That came along with more injuries, a plague that remained with them for the remainder of the season until, beset by injuries, the Dees were eliminated from the finals in straight sets. It was even worse last year, when Narrm inexplicably lowered its colours in Perth to the Waalit Marawar Eagles. Oh, the shame of it all! At least this year, if there is a corner to turn around, it has to be in the direction of something better. To that end, I produced a special pre-game chant in the local Narrm language - “nam mi:wi winnamun katjil prolin ambi ngamar thamelin amb” which roughly translated is “every heart beats true for the red and the blue.” >y belief is that if all of the Narrm faithful recite it long enough, then it might prove to be the only way to beat the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday. The Lions are coming off a disappointing draw at Marvel Stadium against a North Melbourne team that lacks the ability and know how to win games (except when playing Melbourne). Brisbane are, however, a different kettle of fish at home and have very few positional weaknesses. They are a midfield powerhouse, strong in defence and have plenty of forward options, particularly their small and medium sized players, to kick a winning score this week after the sting of last week’s below par performance.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.
