Huge asset lost. His work with our young indigenous players was immense. Are we going to fill that role? I was completely ok with it, until I read he was playing in their VFL side, that makes me sick.

We have Matty Whelan at the club already as Indigenous Project Officer.

Well done to Neville on landing this role. I know Collingwood was chasing him last year, so the quick decision doesn't surprise me. Collingwood need to do a lot to change their culture, and Nev is a good person to help lead that change.

Given the soft cap, it will be interesting to see whether Collingwood bring him in as a rookie, similar to how Port picked up Goldsack last year. With that said, given what happened last year, maybe Collingwood has more space in their soft cap than their player cap!

Good idea for all. I’m assuming his playing payments come from a separate pool, which means he earns more and it doesn’t hurt their soft cap for more than a part time role - yet will spend a good amount of time in the job.

He’s got a bright future Nev. So happy for him.

Not surprised he got snapped up so quick - good on Nev. The CFC are lucky to have him.

On the other hand, it's going to be tough seeing him in the black and white next year.

This hurts my brain.

Its hard to not like anything Nev does.

Its just as hard to like anything that Collingwood does.

All the best Nev, we will always love you.

I praised the soft cap the other day as a huge part of our success by being on a level player field but it also makes it hard once you have success to keep everyone you'd like to. That's even assuming Jetta would've wanted to stay.

The Collingwood VFL team might be a bit more appealing than trudging out to Casey.

And coaching players you've recently played with isn't always easy either.

Plus we've got Matty Whelan too.

So in all 3 aspects of the job I assume Nev has been hired for - playing, coaching, Indigenous programs - it makes sense for him to get a fresh start.

My love for Nev easily exceeds my hatred of the filth. There is no higher compliment I can give.

Best of luck Nev.

Congratulations Nev, sad to see you leave the Dees but you will always be welcome at the club. Sad we couldn't find a role for you.

Great for him and his development.  You can't develop in you stay in the same environment you whole career.  If he's good he may make his way back to us one day.

Nev going where he can make a big impact on footy and on Australian culture in general really

he will be welcomed back in a few years no doubt

Just love the bloke. Great pick up by the pies.

Geez he's got the job ahead of him.

Kinda like leaving the foo fighters to play for John Farnham

That would make him the first person I ever admired at the Filth. Congrats Nev, you’ll always be welcome at the Dee’s.

Gavin Brown wasn't too bad. Now there's Nev. So 2 outa 3,000 ain't bad.

Congrats Nev! The Pies don't deserve you!

He'll be the only one there who knows how to read, write, make an appointment with the dentist and use a spreadsheet.

Love ya guts Nevvy.

All the best for you and your families future.

As others have said has gone where needed most.

So much love for this guy, will be welcome back with open arms.

Good luck Nev Jetta - I wish you all the best for the future.

Disappointing is an understatement, time to put the champagne down.

Collingwood tried to get him last year but the Salary Cap debacle [censored] on that

Nev thinks there are not enough Indigenous coaches in the system and letting them just leave is a blight on the AFL

So the Nev way is show them it can work by doing rather than saying

Playing in the VFL allows him to 'lead' on the field as well, the Casey award did him no harm in this respect

They are assembling quite an off field group there, if they can get the on field group right

Well at least there's one Collingwood player I can't boo.

Do we have to pay spy salaries with the soft cap?

Wish it hadn’t been the pies he was going to but I wish him nothing but the best. Treat him well Collingwood, you couldn’t have landed a better person.

Love you Nev.

Obviously a bit gutted, would have been a huge asset to keep around the club but he's entitled to find work opportunities elsewhere. Maybe it was a soft cap issue? Someone who knows what their talking about can help explain if that was a possibility.

We're going to have to get used to seeing good people go now. It's a situation I'm certainly not used to but now that we're the benchmark they're going to come of our expertise, it is flattering in a way but still annoying.

Congratulations Neville Jetta you are just the right person for Collingwood you have such great leadership skills just going there will help make them a better club.!!💙❤️

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
