Birds of Tokyo about as bad as us in the second qtr.

Need to tidy up stoppages and stop allowing Daniel and co to sit off the back of packs.

Few of of our players MIA and need to get into the game. Kozzy could be the spark.

Biggest issue is that we’re not lowering our eyes moving the ball into the forward line.
Petracca, Viney and Oliver are all guilty

Well be ok....regroup settle.....

In Max we trust

Absolute rubbish.

Yikes, you've gone hard there Webber.

Fritsch had 7 disposals against the Lions, 4 effective (and 4 goals, I concede). But his other three were ineffective.

He had 13 against the cats, with 8 effective (and 2 goals). So 20 disposal before today with 12 effective, or 60% de. His season average is 68%. At the moment he's got 6 with 3 effective, so 50%.

Poor may have been harsh, but he has not been as clean as he usually is.

Huge effort needed from here

we got ambushed in that 2nd Quarter

Bulldogs gambled playing just on the edge and it paid off. throws for handballs, going to ground in tackles, push here and there. experience showing.

Pity Bont’s car didn’t break down on the way to this game.

our Belief will get us over the line.....

Need some Kozzie magic

Got to get it up forward this quarter by hook or by crook then he can get going. First quarter were mainly clean entries, second quarter it hardly got up there. Midfield must lift.

WHY AND HOW THE FUURG GOODWIN IS DANIELS BEING ALLOWED TO RUN AROUND UNTAGGED???

I seriously don't get this.  If this is left unchecked it will go down as one of the worst unchecked decisions in a GF.  Surely with all the guys in the box someone is seeing it and will make the move!!!????

Maybe it’s not meant to happen until it can happen where it should, at the MCG full of Melbourne fans.

Bont for the Norm Smith at this rate.

Well he took out his main contender with a head high bump (un penalised)

Clarry looks NQR now

Who runs with Bont when he drifts forward?

This quarter will be the either the best or the worst I've ever seen in my life.

I'm grateful for that at least .

Exciting times you pack of nutjobs.

Bless you all.

I feel sick right now. I just hope we can get our game together, the system has worked and can work again but we do need to stop the quick ball supply into their 50.

And when we get it we must lock it in our 50. When we do that and get a look at goal, take it. Come on Demons, it is not over until it is over.

I honestly want to vomit, this is not good. I think I can safely say everyone on Demonland is feeling very similar.

Our players need to perfect the art of ducking into tackles. Rewards you with free shots on goal that result in goals (per Lachie Hunter).

Cos they’re rushing the ball in and swarming the contest, then contesting better at ground level than us with receivers just off the contest. They’re first to the loose ball, and first to any contest, and in possession, their skills are slaughtering us. That’s their brand, and it works when you allow them to dominate the pressure game. We got rattled, started fumbling, kicking to no-one, and giving nothing handballs. Only chance we get back into it is contest harder and blitz the ball forward at every opportunity. Every opportunity.  It’s gonna take something special. Go Dees

Daniels presently heading for NS ... the Bont not far away either

Exactly what I’m thinking.

They had the bounce of the ball really go their way that quarter. That generally evens out.

In r19 we lost 9.11 to 13.7. We need to take our chances. Got to bring back that intense pressure from Q1 and grab this game by the scruff.

Let's snag one in the first minute, start the quarter with some momentum, because it was very much against us at the end of Q2.

Go Dees!

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
