Brayshaw was MAGNIFICENT tonight.

GO DEES

Brayshaw best game for the year

Really good to see Sparrow have a good finals game, he’s been building for it all year.

I am almost scared to say it, but we are in a very healthy position leading into the next two games. Everyone is chipping in and we are playing with a real purpose as a group

A very impressive win against a very good side. Viney did a sensational job on Zorko who had 0 score involvements. Sparrow was terrific. ANB did a great job on Rich. Jackson and Rivers so composed under pressure. Fritta brilliant. Gus was excellent. They tried to play down his wing and it backfired.
And of course my man Oliver. What a star. He is a genuine freak. Two games away from becoming an all time great for this club.

Both wingers very good tonight

Loved Sparrow's game. Can see him becoming something quite special, which I wouldn't have said 10 weeks ago.

Loved that hard groundball clash he had with McCarthy.  They both went in hard and neither one went head-first looking for the cheap free.  Perfect technique from both players, great contested clash and Sparrow damn near killed the guy when they hit.  🤣

Are both prelims and GF in Perth? Maxy said we’re off to Perth tomorrow.

At this stage the grand final is at the MCG.

(why they haven’t yet conceded it is just insulting to the public)

YOU BEAUTY!

We are built to play finals footy and it showed tonight. Their midfield was on top early but Gawn wrestled control back from McInerney and from there we controlled play for most of the match. Had we kicked straight in the second and Brown nailed his third quarter miss we could by that stage have been 10 goals up.

Fitness again coming to the fore I reckon. McStay's injury doesn't impact their ability to run the game out as the sub negates the lack of a rotation, but in the fourth quarter we had all the running.

Our A-graders carried us but some of our lesser lights were stand outs. Langdon's first half was terrific, Rivers was rock solid, Sparrow might have played his best game in his career, and the much-maligned Brayshaw, Harmes and Viney all played great games I thought.

We bullied a full strength dominant clearance midfield and held the highest scoring side in the comp to their second-lowest number of scoring shots and second-lowest score of the year. We kept the king of the fl*gs, Daniher, goalless for the first time this year. And we put up 93 points and 28 scoring shots when everyone says our scoring is our weakness.

Now we get the week off, which is invaluable this year, we avoid Port Adelaide in Adelaide, and we set ourselves up for a shot at the big dance.

Get the [censored] around us!

Because mcgowan is likely to shut Perth down tomorrow

Alex Neal-Bullen played his best game ever I reckon

Except for all his great games that don’t get rated as such. He’s a fabulous leader and essential to the heart of this team.

How is Nibbler in traffic these days!?!? Would win an egg 'n spoon race on Westgate freeway.

Little impact from the 'Barometer' tonight. Unless of course you count cheap hits on actual good AFL players.

He's weak as water and a one trick pony who's no good at the trick

As far as Jackson's tooth is concerned, he should replace it with a gold one !!!

Next game will be the tough one. Win that and the Grand Final will be a walk in the park. Now $2.75 to win the flag.

I rate him highly, much to the chagrin of many on here.

But tonight was his best in my eyes. All the good stuff, 2-way run, tackling, and more possessions at high DE%

Gawn - 7 tackles

the most tackles in the ground tonight ❤️💙

Seriously good performance tonight. We made them look avg at best.even J Briwn said, don’t worry about the score, that was a 10goal win.

My heart could do with straighter kicking early to nail the coffin shut early. We are in the drivers seat. The destiny is in our control.it’s up to us.

So good! Calm, thoughtful and hits targets. He's had a great year, but reckon he's been getting better each week.

So proud. Happy not to be a blubbering mess like last week. Will sleep easy tonight. Go Dees ❤️💙

Haha, Same! Pffft imagine crying like a big crybaby every single time we win.
And no, I’m not crying. I’ve just got something in my eye.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
