Not sure how we engineer that from both a Salary and draft picks perspective but would love to see him in Melbourne colours.

There’s talk of Matt Crouch possibly looking to come back to Victoria. Not exactly the class we need in the middle, because t could help out Clarrie and Trac with clearances.

He's a Dee's fan, so surely he plays for $20 and a hot dog a game so we can fit him in right?

Still is! You can only ever have neutral feelings for GWS, it's been scientifically proven.

it's less rather than more likely that we can afford those key giants and their top tier talent like (the long term signed up) whitfield,  greene, kelly, coniglio, plus the really exciting green, hopper or taranto

i'd look at their next tier of rebounding defenders like isaac cumming, or the mids like o'halloran, perryman, and bruhn

they all look like they'll be very good afl players and all in their 'pre-contract' year, with new deals due at the end of 2022

the players i'm still most keen on us chasing remain brayden maynard from the filth, ed richards from footscray, and jake riccardi from gw$

Seems like Taranto can only play in the guts, though. Would push viney/Harmes/Brayshaw out further.

And just like that Leon Cameron reads Demonland and thinks Taranto can go forward to cover for Greene and do it magnificently. This isn’t having a shot at you Mickey, also thought he was a pure mid.

Yeah, look. I got that one wrong didn't I? 😂

Perryman would be a nice fit for us

Don’t pay the Perryman. Don’t even fix a price.

Even though i never put much stock in what Journo's said, but our cap is meant to be pretty tight. We'd have to lose a fair few players surely?

Also we lack currency currently and i imagine the club want Mac Andrew in above any free agent we can realistically nab.

Just flicking it around in my head - anyone else able to enlighten me about Dylan Stephens' situation?

Could we offer him membership in the wingers club?

why do so many peope keep suggesting inside mids, like tom green isn't coming nor is he a good option for us, neither taranto or hopper either. it's our strongest position on the ground and we have youngsters who are coming through behind our 24yo "leaders" and we've got first choice mids at other clubs prepared to limit their time in there to suit the teams needs

How can we get Finn Callaghan?

Guy looks like an absolute weapon and would give a lot for him

Acquire pick 2

Sam Weideman says hi

Marc Murphy too

Sam Weideman is not picked in our team for tomorrow. With TMac out it seemed perfect timing to give Sam some game time in this crucial part of the season. Melksham CHF and Sam not on the bench. You better say "Hi Sam" real soon IMHO.

Grand father the great ruckman Michael Green

Family in Sydney I believe and see no reason he would leave this early in his career.

Just come to the Dees Brayden.. 😉

What prompted it? Not watching

Maynard would be a great get.  Not sure the Pies would accept a 2nd round pick for him.  It probably depends on whether the Weid stays.  If Weid says he’s moving on, we have more trade weight.    Pies could be tempted if we offered Weid and a future 2nd round pick.

Stephens was taken at # 5 in the same year as Kosi and Jackson. He is suited to the centre.

Inside or outside?

If he gets us to the other side I would.

What the Pies will accept I suggest will come down to how much more salary cap challenge they have left.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
