I  feel  very uncomfortable to hear you and Joeboy describing Viney as selfish.

The guy gives his all for the team, and for the club.  He is so brave for the team's cause that he endures repeated physical onslaughts.

I hope to hell he doesn't read Demonland.      If he does , I hope he realises that the vast majority of Demon supporters appreciate and admire his efforts.

I am appalled by suggestions that we should consider trading a guy who I think of as the heart and soul of our club.

Norm Smith was heart and soul of our club as well, look what happened to him! Just Sayin!

I just want to put my hand up and say i was wrong. I've held the private belief we'd never be any good with Jack in. I thought he was a liability offensively.

Well done Jack.

Haven’t always been his biggest fan, but Viney is a finals player. His game tonight was sensational.

We are on top of the ladder and some on here want to trade our 3rd best mid with 2 months of footy left.

It’s pathetic and moot and are you on the teams side here?

We are a chance for a deep run into finals and some of you are already in trade week. That’s MFCSS Dark.

When you are right, you're right. And when you are wrong you're @demon3165... Rugby players don't play like that.

I know his contracted but needs to be considered. He adds nothing to us and clubs like Port are crying out for inside mids, we could make out like bandits.

Sometimes it’s sweet being right, rpfc. He’s all demon, is Jack Viney. Made special sharp for the pointy end of things.

Jack has played some very average Home and Away games at times.

But by God he has played some superb finals.
When the Pressure goes up Jack is ready.
Jeelong went at him hard in the first half, Jack just got up and kept going

He will be a weapon on GF Day

Playing with power and a willingness to defend is extremely valuable in finals, especially in our team. Look at how well Sparrow has taken to it.

If you're playing in a big game, he's a player you want on your side.

He is a weapon forged for the crucible of finals destined to be utilised to devastating impact when the intensity is at its zenith.

Jack Viney was bred for AFL Finals football.

2 weeks until the plebs realise once and for all.

I’m excited for him to take on Macrae or his bestie Wines next week. Bones will be crushed.

Been fantastic since he's come back from suspension.

Will fittingly play his 150th game for the Demons in the Grand Final as well.

Sliding doors decisions last trade week with Viney turning down Geelong to stay with the Dees and Isaac Smith turning down Melbourne to sign with the Cats.

Was huge tonight, made some people look silly tonight JV7, very silly indeed.

Heart n Soul this boy.

2 votes behind Big Maxy's 3 votes.

Shut this thread down ... said it around the time it was opened also

Agree, it really is ridiculous. You don't trade heart and sole players like Vines. Time in the magoos maybe, but trade??

Wines got Jack when he was underdone last time ... will be a different story next time

Is this gonna be one of those "To all of you who wrote Jack Viney off, are you going to show some guts and apologise?" thread bumps?

I think Viney will only get better. He’s been injured a lot. If he could remain on the park more he’ll start hitting more targets and lowering his eyes. If he does that he is going to be a better player. He shown early in his career that he can adapt and change his game. A facet of his game that he needs to develop is to steady himself at times and lowers his eyes. He’ll get there. Good game tonight. He is capable of that.

Jack was amazing 🥰

He was interviewed after the match, and seemed to have lost his voice, he is true red and blue is our JV7😊

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
