This was really tough as we played such a team game but I loved the games of Spargo, Langdon, Brayshaw and Tomlinson to name a few.

This was a raffle.

6. Trac (36 disposals, 2 goals)

5. Gawn (great captains goal to stop cats run)

4. Oliver (more kicks than handballs)

3. Viney (12 tackles)

2. Langdon

1. Fritta (4 goals and looks like he’s having a heap of fun this year)

Really difficult - which I'm really happy about

Gawn - The captain showed the way - again

Petracca Got plenty of it and love the muscle he provides

Lever - Lead the defence

Viney - His beastly best

Clarrie  - You just cant leave him out because he he gets the pill so often

Kossie - Brilliant but more importantly he is creating pressure and match up problems. Oppo coaches are going to burn up energy                      wondering how to contain him

Apologies to about 15 others

Salem was also great. Couldn’t fit Fritter in despite 5 goals. Hunt is probably our most improved and I thought Jetta and Tomlinson stood up in the absence of May.

Really interesting situation over the ground occurring now. There are doubles of similar types of good players  now like Hunt and Langdon, Ollie and Petracca, Jackson and Gawn, and Fritch and Spargo, and May and Lever. Complimentary differences.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
